Mass Effect 2 because I found the first one to be brilliant. Racked up many hours on it. Though, I only have a computer so I am just left with ME2.

I was raised on Final Fantasy.
FF XIII gets my vote easy.
Honestly, Mass Effect kind of annoyed me, although I don't know why.

EDIT: People didn't like FF XII? I thought it was one of their finer moments, myself.
Heh heh ... Trickster...

Neither of them are out yet, and they both seem to have made changes in the way they're played when compared to their predecessors, so I can't pass judgement on either of them.

Historically, however, I haven't liked the Final Fantasy series. My interest in the series ended around the time they killed Aeris. Not because I cared, but because I had leveled her the most and they never gave a good explanation as to why we couldn't just lob a Phoenix Down at her and laugh in Seph's face.

It was at that moment I knew that Final Fantasy was going down a different path than me, and I quietly put Seven away (after beating it, of course), never to play another.

I just love game too. *snicker* *chortle*

Oh, screw it! ROFLCOPTER! That made my evening.

I am also going to have to go ME2 b/c I haven't finished 9 and couldn't play X, X2 or XII because I couldn't afford a PS2. It seems wrong to skip to XIII... although we may end up with both anyway. I do finally own 1-7 on something other than an emulator.

FF 13. Why? Well, because the only FF game I've played is the DS port of 4, and I wanna see how hard it would be to jump nine games ahead, how similar or different they are. Not to mention, for "colourful, silly anime characters," the character designs looks pretty down to earth. Sort of.

Mass Effect... eh, it just doesn't hook me, that's all. Does that make me a bad person, then?

You don't need to play any previous Fantasy game to get a new one. The only things they carry over are usually the aesthetics of the world, and many of the monsters. Oh, and Biggs & Wedge are in many of them, too.

Can I choose to have long hair and a decent looking beard in either of these? That's all I'm basing my decisions on. Come on ME2, step up to the plate this year a little more in that regard.

Guys whats better, Green Tea or Ford Fiestas?
Ford Fiesta. Tea sets off my gag reflex.... and yes, I know it's weird.
It's not weird, drinking normal tea does the same to me. I can only drink green or herbals, and only the green tea that isn't all bitter.

The main character is a rehash of Cloud; therefore the game has gone from good to mediocre.

As for ME2, never heard nor played it.
Never heard of ME2? Here's [http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14235013/mass-effect-2/videos/masseffect2_garrusfightfull.html] a video with combat, here's [http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14235013/mass-effect-2/videos/masseffect2_welcomeomega_11.html] one which shows the more conversational side of it.

I don't any games in either of those franchises so I don't think I'll buy either. But if forced to I think I'd prefer Mass Effect, because not only would it be alot easier to get into the universe of Mass Effect, but I've never enjoyed turn-based combat...ever, I find something off putting about games that are absolutely drenched in the cliches of jrpgs, and considering the fact that the final fantasy series brought in these two *Uggh* innovations I think I'd have to pass. 'Sides, 13 is an unlucky number, I love rpgs where you make a character from scratch and I've always loved the science fiction genre.

Well, there's also gameplay innovations. By the looks of things, FF13's combat system isn't a straight-out turn-based affair, but has elements of it, and that's mainly what I was getting at. It also looks like random encounters are gone, too. That's always a plus.

Mass Effect 2 because the only time I've ever played some of the Final Fantasy games was when I didn't really appreciate games in general and simply enjoyed the pretty lights and sounds - I could well have loved them, but sadly it wasn't to be.

ME2, 'cause i'm terrible at JRPG's, and i have a 'friend' who ruins the endings for me.
Also i've wanted to play a spacey-scifi game for a while now (since i gave back ME)so the sequel will be right up my sreet.

I'm going to buy both anyway, but I'm more excited by Final Fantasy 13.

Don't forget the many appearances of Cid!

I am going to be HONEST. I haven't actually played Mass Effect. My friend did and didn't like it, so I stayed away. Plus, other than this forum, I haven't found many who liked it. I guess I should give it a go having found this new following og the game!

But Squenix have a habit of putting out an awesome game when it's their first of a new generation, and no one can deny the success of the franchise as a whole.

The graphics are gorgeous. Seriously, even if you're adamant that you're not getting FF13, still check out the latest trailer. The battling looks strategic, manic and turn-based, with huge magic spells and twisting, hacking combos and an awesome battle music along with it.

AND!

They said that, due to being healed after every battle, that it is going to be considerably more difficult than previous games!

I really do believe that FF13 is my most anticipated game of my 21 years.
