Finally, soldier customization.

Honestly, I've been waiting forever to put custom little touches on my character's helmet, arm patch, body armour, whatever. Sad as it is.

That's one hell of a first post!
Can I ask, where did you hear all of this?
Of someone who works for infinity ward apparently
then they got fired after they leaked this information

although there have been other things like this around the internet

like remember just before the NXE came out? someone posted a huge list of things that they said where in it

and it took Microsoft like a month to point out none of it was true (well some of it was)

but im not sure about this though
it seams like this stuff is what I expect to see in the game

There have been threads with that list of stuff in it, supposedly its true. Although, I do hope they do not put vehicles in, they almost always ruin balance. Tanks in WAW were just, /facepalm

I'm willing to trust in all this info provided to us (nice 1st post), but Christ I hope he's lyin' about the vehicles. Those things ruin everything.

I agree with both of you there
Vehicles did ruin the game, if they did put vehicles in, they would have to make much easier ways to destroy them, helicopters should eb able to kill them in 1 or 2 hits, snipers should be able to shoot the drivers out ect...

maybe if they are limited in where they can go as well, such as only half the level or somtihng?

There is always a tank mission in the WW2 CoD's... Modern Warfare in my opinion was the most stunning--graphics and story-wise--emotive, cinematic rollercoaster ride i've ever been on. Gears 2 was close, but the story just lets it down in a few places (i would have liked a stealth mission heading into the citadel, because the cover system would work well for stealth play, but instead stupid Dom just wanted to KILL EM ALL in the name of love).

i liked COD4 also because it was completely different to the others in the way that it was more relevant to today's world tensions (as opposed to mindless AI Nazi's getting mowed down ..AGAIN.. in this day and age? Puh-lease.), and the online play simply rocks. i think WaW's focus on realism is detracted from by having a single russian tank obliterate an entire force of german tiger tanks....but that's not the worst thing Treyarch did, i think the worst thing they did in WaW (other than that damn tacky Papyrus font in the menus!!!) was put the same freakin tanks in the multiplayer game.

Instead of shoving you in a tank, COD4 sets you up alongside a tank..which is cooler as long as you don't try to rush forward and get yourself blown apart by 160 mms of explosive awesomeness.

The Zombie-Nazi's minigame was fun though, i must admit, even though it was just a tad ridiculous at the end with a constant stream of the buggers filling every room of the place and slowing the frame-rate down on the ps3 :O what an insult to an awesome system. it still felt like GoW-2's Horde gametype, but the buying weapons part was refreshingly different

In conclusion, i think a tank mission is a bad idea folks :D If modern Warfare 2 is released, they should stick to the ways Modern Warfare 1. Make a little change: keep it the same.

P.S. sorry i just wrote a book about modern warfare 1 and World at War in a Modern Warfare 2 thread, but within it i did express my opinion on the topic of this proposed sequel :D

Modern Warfare 2. Ditches the premise of the previous Call of Duty games, and has a new lease of life as Modern Warfare 2.

Presumably to ditch shared name downfall of Treyarch...

As for MW2...I don't know what to say. I mean, what new could there possibly be added to keep the game fresh, and not just upgraded with better graphics? New perks? New Challenges? A few new playlists.

Seems like a WaW. Copy what was good from the previous game, do little to improve and then release it out into the wild with new skins.

As for Innovations. I don't know. I mean, the formula of CoD is you shoot, man falls down. They'd gone so far as to give you points for it, and level up your character and get better guns. Then they'd give you ways to customise yourself (Perks). Theres not much that they can alter with to change the formula of.

B + M = D
PB + M = D + E
Perks = P, B = Bullets, M = Man, D = Death and E = Experience.

The only thing they could possibly change is Man, such as how you move, cover system, how well your aim is, and in the case of WAW what Vehicle they are in.

Edit: This is part of my post in Page 5. I came back and included it because I thought it was worth a mention for those who just want to post, without reading on.

Hmmmm, so everyone hates the tank missions

What did people think of flying in the big gun ship on COD 4?

and the black cat mission on WAW?

The big gun ship mission was fun i think, much better than tanks :)

Are they ditching CoD because it's made by different people?
(No one actually answered me I don't think...)

Ah fair enough, i still find it a little hard to believe, taking all of the aspects of a COD game and making them into a MW game instead, surely there has to be some copyright laws breached there?

No, these are the people that made call of duty 4 (the good one) people think they are dropping COD because treyarch made such a poor job of COD WAW (The bad one ^^)

I wouldn't mind vehicles if they made them actually realistic and much more fragile. It would be cool if instead of the one-shot kill that the tanks are in WaW, make them way the hell slower and basically mobile cover. You know, like a real tank?

Yeah thats what I though but I guess IW made the templates so it must be theirs to use and Treyarch must have just been lucky to be able to use it. PErsonally I'm glad its going its own way.
So am i, if thats what it takes to drop world War 2
maybe thats why they droped it?
because after every good game they make somone is going to taint there reputation by making a poor WW2 version of it?

I think it will be Counter Terrorism like Rainbow 6, but with a more organic, improvised, feel like 24.

You'll see...

Ahh I see :) Thank you

Do you reckon MW2 will sell more than WaW in that case?
