She's kind of shy, especially towards those who aren't put off by her eye. Lock eyes with here without freaking out and she'll get all red in the face.SweetShark said:I Approve this Thread, even if I didn't read the new manga, only the old small comics [if they are related].
I will choose the cyclop girl cause she look cute in the military uniform.
What kind of personality she have?
not bad, I was thinking more likeCaramel Frappe said:You're in luck... there's a side character known as Draco, under the species 'Dragonewt'. Here's a link. Behind the picture, the wiki explains whom this character is (Warning: It kind of contains spoilers about the character as well).
no problem, found it while i was looking for the dragon girl.Caramel Frappe said:Yea, I don't blame you for wanting to see a species girl looking that unique. However, in the anime / manga, these girls tend to be quite simple in terms of design. Not saying it's the author being lazy, for he does a wonderful job providing realistic touches on the bodies IF these girls were to actually exist. Take for example, his sketch on Rachnera.
For a guy who does ecchi .. he put a lot of thought into each character's biology and structure. In fact, he did some research on each animal that a girl is spliced with.. such as informing the audience that spiders get drunk on caffeine and illustrating Rachnera getting drunk off a Starbucks black coffee which wasn't "necessary" but still impressive on the author's research. Personally I love each girl's design for they are still unique without the author adding "too much" animal plating onto their bodies. What I mean is, take a look at the difference between these two girls.
As you may notice, both of these characters are 'Harpies' ... but look at what our author did. Rather then making them look to 'beast-like' or adding a ton of details that may be distracting, he went with a simpler but realistic (when I say realistic, I mean biology wise ... not like scientifically proven) approach. Her hands are the wings, with the thumb as her talon. Her feet are bird like as well, but her body + head is still human. It also makes her more memorable because she is simple enough, but not boring in personality + design.
Even Suu, the slime ... is drawn to be very human-like. Now don't get me wrong, they're mostly human like because this manga is an ecchi meaning to arouse the audience. If they looked 'too animal like' then it could scare people off. But still, as someone who admires art and the choices an artist makes, I pick up on these interesting traits. For example why does Miia have red elf-like ears?
Well, it's probably in my opinion, the author felt seeing Miia with no ears would look awkward to him ... especially if she had her hair up and there were snake holes on the side of her head. SO instead, he gave her a mutation, with the scales patched onto her cheeks and coating over her human ears- mutating them to be elf like. Same reason why Cerea has long pointy ears due to being part centaur- to illustrate that she's not fully human but not escalating over what we identify as human. The best example for this touch is why the majority of people draw Nekkos having human like features (mostly human all around) but their ears are replaced, because it symbolizes that they're also part animal in a creative fashion while appearing cuter. Could you imagine if they had human ears, but their faces were converted to look fully like their animal counter part?
That would not appeal to us whatsoever, so this is perhaps why they look the way they do in the author's tastes. Same reason why Papi doesn't have a beak despite being a Harpy ... she is drawn to be more human for us to relate, but has all the animal parts in the right places to make her interesting- without making it just awkward to look at.
P.S: Nice GIF of Miia. That's going in my Folder, thanks for sharing!
Maybe that is the literal translation, but the English version is the quote I gave.Zontar said:I thought the quote was "I'm too old to be sneaking into someone's bed" or something like that.Paragon Fury said:Also; I read Chapter 7 today finally. Funny thing about that scene Rachne has also been described as a carnivore so I wondered if she avoids cooking because she is aware of it compared to Miia.Caramel Frappe said:You just reminded me of how much thought was put into the characters. Thank you for the information I forgot to include when quoting Lunar Templar with this post here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.881193-Poll-Monster-Musume-Girls#22201498]. I gave my input about how the author went beyond the basics and included really interesting facts / details upon each character. Like, he could of simply made the series ecchi and simple, but went beyond that with such content.Riot3000 said:But man this manga is great like take took the can't cook joke with Miia and explained as her being a carnivore she does not have the robust taste buds of omnivores and herbivores that was just genius and gold.
Such as how Rachnera gets drunk off coffee because spiders IRL get wasted by caffeine.
Despite how clean & tidy Cerea is, due to being part horse- her room smells like a barn (that's messed up)
When it gets to cold, Miia weakens to the point of falling asleep because she's cold blooded.
So the reason Miia sucks at cooking is because of her taste buds being poor which, snakes have as well.
There was also a scene with Cerea having an addiction to a merchant's carrots because she added 'flavor' to them when normally, vegetables don't really bare much taste (especially lettuce). Here's the scene I am talking about (also the golden moment you spoke of is included in this too).

Probably because of Japan's laws on such content when it's not a hentai, but it's not kid friendly either. However on the DVD version, all that is put back in to my surprise.
With the quoted part I always thought it odd as well. Young folk can still buy the DVDs after all.

Considering it's just unabashed monster girl shlock, it really is shocking how high quality the animation is. Seeing Doppel morph her clothes back into her hair was one of the more impressive visuals I think I've seen from an anime show in a long time.Caramel Frappe said:The anime has really good quality to my surprise.
