Personally, I hate classifying music into genres. I like music that is original - I listen to everything from Kings of Convenience to The Dillinger Escape Plan, and everything in between - jazz, classical, and avant-garde included.

Classical all the way, it can make the saddest songs or the most inspiring i-want-to-punch-something songs, it can conjure images of sunny days and fall mornings, or the chill of winter. Thats why I love Classical - Or orchestra which ever you prefer to call it.

Classical stuff, funk, swing, military marches (Aleksandrov Red Army Choir is one of my favorites). Rock is good, but, in my humble opinion, metal is usually just annoyingly loud noise with some guy screaming.
