Hey guys, having trouble deciding between my gaming and my exams

so by way of a poll, please decide for me!
I doubt my badmouthing of Activision is going to have any real effect in the big picture, but let's be honest: nobody should be buying Black Ops under any circumstances.

Activision who is calling the shots here has been abusing their customers for quite a while now, we have Bobby Kotick, DLC gouging, and the Infinity Ward raid. On top of that by some reports (here on these forums) "Black Ops." is also broken in some rather fundemental ways. There are videos showing how broken the new "Chopper Gunner" is, the fact that they have not learned from "last stand" type abillities, and similar things.

Running out to buy this game is exactly the kind of behavior that makes gamers seem like addicts, but also encourage the behavior of people like Bobby Kotick, and shows that gamers are going to buy broken products, which is going to contribute to the whole "oh hey we can patch it later" attitude, or to skimp on testing game balance and the like.

You're going to get a lot of people telling you to study. However, you need a balance of fun and work to be able to work effectively and get the grades you want. I say get Black Ops but study as well. It's all about balance, take a look at me.

Two of my grades were Cs one of those was RS the other was business studies. I got two As, one in history and one in maths and the rest were Bs. The only tests I revised for extensively were History and business studies and I was expected to get and A or at least a B in business and a C or B in History.

So what have we learnt? That revising doesn't necessarily work well for everyone and that we need a balance of fun and work.

...unless you're doing higher than GCSE. If you are then get a more relaxing game that you can dip in and out of in between revision sessions.

This is the dumbest question I've heard all week. By all means, go buy Black Ops. Then have fun bagging my groceries or mopping up my piss off of public restroom floors with that sweet education you wasted.
The smartest of people know how to piss in urinals with out it getting everywhere

SATSs don't matter
GCSEs do matter, however they are stupidly easy and you can get very good grades with very little revision (obviously depending on natural aptitude).
A levels? Of course.

But seriously, you must really lack motivation if you don't want to revise for important exams. Me? I want to join the RAF as a pilot so I need to work pretty hard (though I never needed to work that much until now). Aim high and pick something interesting to do in later life.

Alright, I'm going to tell this once and only once, so listen carefully. *breathes in*
[HEADING=1]LEARN. FOR YOUR. EXAMS.[/HEADING]

*breathes out* Alright. And when you succeed and have (pretty) good grades, you can reward yourself with Black Ops.

Yeah, I mean come on.

Do we really have to tell you?

Sorry but...

You want to choose between improving the rest of your life and about an hour of entertainment?
For shame...

I'm guessing you have mocks coming up that DECIDE YOUR SIXTH FORM
Don't the actual exam results decide your 6th form? I know you have to put down predicted grades on application forms, but surely having been predicted Ds they would change their mind if you got A*s for the actual exams? Mocks are mocks, as far as I'm aware they serve no purpose outside of your existing school other than when an exam board needs to guess a final grade due to illness etc.

Considering you will be through it in about 10 hours, it shouldn't hurt your exams.

On a serious note: Exams. really. do it.

Nah we don't have our exam results by the time we are applying for sixth form so sixth forms judge you based on your mock results, unless the person is planning on skipping a year then their mocks should be something to worry about

Why is it one or the other? What happened to playing just playing for a little while. You can't study all day. Play some Black Ops, but just make sure, that you know your stuff for the exam.

University or high school exams? Either way, study for Christ's sake, Black Ops can wait.

Where have you gone since then? Fucking no where. We accomplished miles more than you ever did. I rest my case...

Although you guys are pretty cool as your country is properly patriotic. If I had the choice I'd be born Scottish as they are patriotic. Noone in fucking England is that Patriotic and it pisses me off!

Read this book before you make any claims about the Scots going 'fucking nowhere'.

Exams. CoD will be waiting for you once you pass. I was sitting on the complete Battlestar Galactica on DVD during my exams.

No matter how much you want to play Black Ops, you need to study for your future.

Black Ops will be there when the exams are over, and you will be even more overjoyed with it.

Learn from my mistakes, exams come first.

That should be a no-brainer. Focus on your exams, CoD: Black Ops will still be there when your exams are over.
