Alright escapists i'm wondering do you prefer old weapons (Long sword, crossbow, longbow) or New weapons (Ak-47,Uzi,.45 pistol)?

I prefer old weapons like the long sword due to the fact it takes more skill to wield them. Now i'm not saying it doesn't take skill to kill something with a fire arm it's just I think it takes less skill.

I think old weapons are a lot more creative. Today it's all guns just slightly different than the last type and they don't differ a whole lot in appearance. But 300 years ago when you had 7ft claymores with detachable maces, that was just epic.

Not that type of old weapons but I prefer bolt action rifles to automatic ones. More fun for me.
But to answer your question, the older weapons are cooler, but the newer is easier to use, so I pick newer.

Both.

Old ones for the challenge of learning how to use them without causing myself more damage than my opponent. Doubles as excercise.

Different weapon for different goal. But no mistake, I'd choose a firearm every single time I'd need something dead.

Old weapons are ineffective and using them in a combat situation will result in your predictable death.

New weapons are both shiny and deadly, and using them in a combat situation results in victory.

Sure, they may be more creative or crafty, but one bullet is all it takes to take down a charging swordsman...

If Robert Rodriguez has taught me anything is that you can attach an automatic weapon to a hot chicks leg and it looks badass. So in other words... new weapons.

I prefer Ye Olde weapons, but if i was put in a situation where I needed to use a weapon I'd choose a new one without any hesitation.

Old weapons are better because you can get creative and you can fight with a lead pipe.

And using a shiny weapon in combat will result in you getting killed.. quickly.

i think there is some more strategy involved in new weaponry. also there is just as much skill involved with new weaponry as old, its just different types and tactics.

These chaps combine the 2 quite well I feel.

So yeah, for the sake of the Ghurkas, Imma be awkward and say both. Anyway, you use them for different things. You cant stab people with a gun...

That's completely untrue.
You can be trained to be adept with a sword in a matter of days.

New weapons. Take my favourite gaming pastime: sniping.

Old: Longbow or Crossbow

New: Bar 50.cal Sniper Rifle

No competition!
