It is not a bad change per se, i just cant wrap my head around 1 key feature of this new design.

Why o why is HALF (FIFTY per cent) of the page UNUSED / white?
Everything is just crammed on the left side of the page and the right is completely useless.

Too much on the left side especially the video, wth? I watch my video at the center since I'm sitting at the center of the screen!

Why did they get rid of "Sort by- Relevance, Upload Date, View Count and Rating" for the search filter? I want to see my search using the the "Upload date" sometimes but now they are too specific with it since it's not the same thing ("the old "Upload date display them in order of when it was updateed however using "Upload- This week" does not display them in order)!

Okay, having looked at it, I found that there is a little button that shows up when you hover your mouse over a subscriber video on the main page, that lets you set it so you only get uploads from them. Im glad... but now Im getting a bunch of recommendations for videos Ive watched once, and never again...

So my previous hyperbole still stands...

You know what else is awesome? I'm really glad you no longer have that tab above a person's video that lets you browse other videos released before and after the one you're watching. I mean why the heck would I want to be able to quickly watch a person's previous or next videos? That's just silly! -_-

And augh, I really liked being able to click the thing to see a person's other uploads! It didn't always work, but when it worked it was awesome!

The only thing that really irked me was how much of a pain getting to subscription uploads is now compared to how it was before, i.e. NOT! Other than that I'm fairly ambivalent and I actually kinda like the 'more from your subscriptions' tab at the side.

it's a piece of shit. plain and simple. the old one worked. it had suggested videos which were only occasionally relevant to my interests (thanks to watching related videos A LOT) the suggested channels on the BOTTOM of the left side, and my upload notifications in the centre. it WORKED.

this new one took all that good stuff, and moved it around and shat all over it until it was unrecognizable.

i swear if YT didn't have the userbase and the videobase monopoly it does, like if another video site cropped up that had all the same videos and all the same users, NOBODY WOULD VISIT YOUTUBE EVER AGAIN.

Don't like but I'm sure I'll get used to. I didn't care for last change either but eventually accepted it as the norm. The thing that got me with this latest change was that it happened between videos so I though youtube was broken.

Its bloody awful, each time they change it they make it worse. Its so much harder to navigate to your subscriptions because its too busy trying to tell you what to watch and shove it down your throat. That or its too busy telling you that someone liked and/or Favorited a video which I couldn't really give a shit about.
They should go back to the 2009 layout.

Don't like the new layout at all. Don't know why there's so much wasted space and why the home page takes me to suggested videos, the title being moved I'm neutral about though and the playlist thing as well (never really used playlists anyways). The main problem is with the home page though not being my subscriptions. I don't upload anything, the only reason I made an account was so that I could subscribe to people and keep track of what they had uploaded instead of not being signed in and having to search for them or bookmark their page or something. Its not terrible having to make two clicks to get to those videos but the old layout was better with recommended videos on the side and subscriptions front and center. Also the video centering, I personally don't mind but don't think it makes sense for them to not be centered.

Since I use chrome I guess, youtube hasn't changed in months for me, and I've gotten used to how it looked, except for one thing.

Everytime I open youtube, the video feed is of youtube's recommended videos and not just my subscriptions. Fuck you, Youtube, I don't care what you think I should watch, I know what I want to watch. So every time I open it, I have to click on My Subscriptions. It's just one click, but it's over and over again when they could have just had a setting or something.

For that sole reason, I prefer the previous youtube layout.

What winds me up is that, as you say, when I go on YouTube I have to click to find out what the people I'm subbed to have done, and then click again for uploads only, whereas before that was my YT homescreen. So yeah, it is objectively worse as know more clicks are necessary to get to the content you have personally selected to view.

Remember when you could customize youtube? When you could put what you wanted where you wanted and even remove some aspects entirely?

That was the last good youtube layout in my mind. It was also one of the first ones. I do not understand why youtube needs to change.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't white and so far left. I'm not even a webpage designed and I'm twitches just looking at all that empty space on the right, it's just so ugly.

So, how come they took something that was simple and good (having a button on top that'd let you go to your faves, subscriptions, view history, etc., and a button above the video so that you can see what else the uploader has uploaded), and just do away with it? What's with this cram everything to the left bullshit? And why do the comments now have the user's user image next to them? The comments are now cluttered to shit.

I didn't like it when YouTube was changed to the last layout, but at least it was functional and easy to navigate. Now... blech.
