Inverted. To me it's like having my thumb on top of my character's head. *Pulls thumb back* "look up, stupid!"

inverted if I'm flying, normal for everything else
"PULL UP! PULL UP!" just doesn't sit well if i'm not wrenching back on the joystick

Why would i want to look down when I'm moving the mouse up? As it wouldn't make much difference if i changed it, but it would be hard to get used to it and i don't see any setting on windows to change it to inverted when i'm sorting my desktop icons.

I am used to inverted.

The way I think about it is, when you want to look up, you move your head back and tilt it up. When you want to look down, you move your head forward and tilt it down. So it just comes natural.

For the love of god normal. I still shudder when I remember the days where you had no choice.

I used to be a normal player, giving the inverted players a hard time about it. Then something snapped and I now play inverted. No idea why...

I've never understood the "Up is up, down is down." argument for normal controls. Do you guys play with your controllers pointed at the ceiling or something?

I don't. My controls don't have "Up, down, left, right." they have "Forwards, backwards, left, right."
Do you know which way you end up looking if you move your head forward without moving your body? Down.

Normal. Whatever floats your boat, but really, how can, "Up is up, down is down" not be easier? I won't knock it if you like it, but personally, being offered inverted controls is like being offered the option of reading a book all in caps with no punctuation. It just muddles things for absolutely no reason.
Actually, that's a very poor choice of an analogy. Rather, inverted controls is more like a manga comic that reads "backwards." A book with no punctuation and all capitals actually greatly affects the sheer mechanics of functionality in comprehension. Inverted controls, just like a manga layout, simply depends on what you're used to.
I still stick by my analogy, since inverted controls requires me to put forth effort into thinking wrong, and it changed the game from quick reflexes to planning out your movements in a counter-intuitive way. Again, that's just my perspective. Inversion turns a game into a chore for me.

Also, the manga flopping does cange the way the comic works a bit. Im not a purist who refuses to read Americanized manga, but if you can handle reading the opposite way, the Aestetics are slightly improved.
I love it when people don't even REALIZE the obvious.

Normal if I'm using a mouse, inverted for a joystick/console controller I think. It also varies by which kind of game it is.
Does inverted mean that you pull the controller of your choice towards you to make to make the camera change angle upwards?

Inverted. Too many flight simulators as a child.
Me too but I think it also has a lot to do with using a mouse first when games started going 3d.
I can't do normal.

Well... for flying games (Ace Combat) I ofcourse use inverted, but any other game it just seems wrong for.
