Poll: Opinions on Cannabis?

The cannabis... it is evil...
Never tried it, never will.
It would stop me from giving blood if I did sully myself with it.
I count it as sullying because it would feth up all of my plans if I touched any drug.
But cannabis really stinks, which is enough excuse for me to stay the hell away from it.
I don't want to mess myself up with it like so many others where I live.

In my opinion, excessive usage can make people become trapped in their own little world, and limited usage is just a bit of fun. I would never use it myself because I already have enough in my life to make me happy.

Just don't drive or operate machinery after lighting up, okay?

Aside from the drug aspect of it, Cannabis is great for making cloth.

OT:Its cool if other people do it. I'm undecided on my personal use of it (never have), mostly because it's illegal here in the USA and I want to do good in high school, and I'm a pretty bad procrastinator already.

Never have and never will. I personally do not give a crap if its not bad for you, I'd just never do it.

I used to do it, along with a bit of alcohol and enough hard stimulants to kill those of lesser constitution, when I was a teenager.

I cleaned my ass up in 1996 and have been completely sober since then. I don't care what people do with their time, just don't do it around me and don't act like a total shithead who can only talk about getting high like a walking stereotype.

Don't anyone try to compare it to being drunk either, I have seen people who have been drunk and people who have been high, and it is not the same.

I know I have seen drunk people do it a lot at the bars. But at my local coffeeshop 0 violence ever occurs.

People don't have to be violent to be dangerous. Being clumsy, naive, or just genuinely oblivious to the world and what is happening in it is enough to make your self dangerous to others. People like that are more likely to cause accidents. Just recently some guy in the town I live in was arrested by the police because he was driving his car something like a 120 km per hour where the legal limit was 60. And he was driving INSIDE THE TOWN. Turned out he was high while driving and had no real idea what the fuck he was doing and wasn't even aware that he was above the legal limit.

Granted that not every drug affects you in the same way, and I don't remember what drug he was using or if it was even mentioned in the news story, but most drugs are just really bad. The only stuff I don't really think is as bad as the media claims it is is pot.

See there are a lot of varying stories on that. From experience of me and my friends, we get really fucking high, walk around (we have access to a car but even when we're stoned out of our minds, we agree to NEVER use it whilst high) and we stumble every there and then, but we're fully capable of understanding what we're doing. All it really does is make your body tingly and make everything ten times more enjoyable. And a rush of obscure thoughts. Personally, it's very easy to control my body when I'm high and it is for my friends as well.

If I may be so blunt, I look down on smokers in general and more so if it's cannabis.
It's arrogant and fairly pointless because no matter how high you get, there is always a low.

everyone i know who smokes and smoked somewhat regularly cant seem to do anything unless they were high...and life to them was boring unless they were high

Aside from the drug aspect of it, Cannabis is great for making clothing.

Trapped in their own little world... sounds like a few (If not ALL) conservative talk radio hosts and talking heads light up on an hourly basis.


That being said and sticking to the topic, i have tried marijuana. I took a couple of hits from a bong loaded with white widow which my friends insisted was the marijuana equivalent of Everclear, but the only effects were as follows:
A. The stomachache i had from the pizza eating contest was gone
B. I became funny
C. I wanted to kill the guy sitting next to me who wouldn't stop giggling, though that actually isn't out of the ordinary for me.

Smoked often for a while. Then I grew up. Drugs offer no greater truth or understanding, or really any boon of any kind to you. So why continue usage of a substance that offers a temporary and empty happiness, but costs so very much?

I dunno. I don't begrudge you for smoking if you do, but I feel that I must draw greater meaning from my life, and after running the total cornucopia of drugs, I've found them lacking.

Neither do video games or posting on forums. They're just a distraction and we gain nothing much from them. And if you're a working man, it's pretty cheap here in Canada. Considering 1g could last you about 5-6 smoking sessions with one person.

So please, stop acting like you're tying to find the meaning of life Mr. Philosophical. Weed is just a fun thing to do and fun hobbies are A-OK in life.. It shouldn't become a life-style though.

I am going to have to opt out of using it. There are so many better ways to spend my time. Like, play video games. At least I have to spend that $60 only once, where with weed I would have to buy it over and over again, resulting to the same ends (that is, wasting time). That's just my personal view. I wouldn't do it. I feel like it's a waste of time, money, and it is, as some people refuse to believe, bad for you. I also eat enough junk as it is so?I don't think I should add to that equation.

I personally don't care that much. I think marijuana should be legalized for any of these two reasons:
1. If the government were to legalize it, they could put a tax on it like they do cigarettes. There would of course be a lot of messy bureaucracy to deal with, but it would help the government in the long run, and as a result, the people.
2. Pot smokers would stop being so annoying about it.

Not all pot smoker are annoying about it, but I've seen a few, hell, I live around a few like that. They may bring it up at the most inopportune times, and it gets a little obnoxious, to be honest with you. Some of my friends smoke pot, good friends too. They aren't annoying about it, all the time.

I honestly don't care who smokes pot. As long as they aren't annoying, or try to make their business my business, we're all right.

I could go on a massive rant about how it's no worse (possibly even better) than a lot of drugs that are legal and it should be legalised but I don't wanna cause I'm sure its been covered many times by now, I've tried it once it was a'ight, nothing I'd go out of my way for though, granted if it was legal and easier to access I'd probably do it more but that's not gonna happen any time soon so I'll stick to the sauce.

I only do it when I'm with a couple of my friends and someone has some on them. Yes, I'm a freeloader. But I buy them a drink or two when we're out and it's all ok again. I'm the opposite of the stereotype, except for the slacker part. I've always been a slacker...

So I don't really mid of people smoke weed around me. Maybe it has to do with being so exposed to it in my life (festivals, friends etc)

I have nothing against cannabis and i'm all for legalising it, it's better for you then smoking and drinking and nobody has ever died from it, but I never ever EVER! want to do ANY drugs (yes including alchohol even though i'm Irish) also people say that people are encouraged to do drugs because all the 'cool' people do it but everyone I know who does drugs is a weirdo, that's not why I don't want to do drugs though, I don't want to do drugs because the ones that go up your nose, the ones that are injected & the ones that are smoked are all icky and alchohol kills brain cells.

This is true. People who are high are much less dangerous. Being high (at least on marijuana) just makes people very calm. Sure, they might still do stupid things, but they aren't likely to get aggressive or surly like drunks can get.

That's a huge generalization man. I smoked weed because I wanted to try it, not because my life is boring.

And many medications have side affects as well you know? Is medication and people on medication people you deem to be lower than yourself? And weed can actually help a lot of things with the human body. And it's fascinating that it doesn't even give you lung cancer . Seriously, look it up. I thought it was just pro-weed propaganda, but it's not.

I'm not telling you to smoke weed though, that's your choice. I'm just saying stop being ignorant, we have enough of those people in the world.

Smoked for a long time, but eventually just started to feel like it was making me stupid, so I quit. Now I drink all the time, YIPEEE!!!
