Welcome to my world sir, although I would like to have a game with you to a) check if you really are a pc player b) you can actually help me get to the end of the campaigns in expert, because no matter how much I try to plan things out, some douchebag always turns on the crescendos before I have time to murder them and stop them from doing so (I always use a shotgun see, it somehow feels safer for tits up). Anyways, find me on my profile, and let's have a showdown with them zombies.

I play on the PC since they had that Freaky Friday discount thing and I'd been thinking of playing it. Mouse controls are also much easier to use than a controller in an FPS in my opinion.

Playing it with someone you can scream at and punch when a hunter hits you is so much better for consoles for that very reason.

I use both and there both the same in my opinion, i haven't seen any difference, i have never "phased through" an ally, nor do PC use tactics while Xbox has a majority who do not,and so far i have not experienced faults with the AI, maybe I'm just lucky on both PC and Console that i avoid the morons on nearly every occasion but if there's one thing i hate its a PC snob.
I am sorry but I must address this I am not nor will ever be a PC snob, as you put it. I am simply posing a question based on what I have seen playing many games on both versions. This is about general community and on average the community for this game on xbox is far worse than the community on PC. I like consoles and console games so do not try to apply a label that does not fit, furthermore I resent that you would think that it is simply a matter of luck of the draw when I have played through many games before coming to this conclusion.

By the way to tell me you have never experienced these things would mean you either have not played very much or ignore them entirely because I can not see how you would not notice them otherwise, especially when the team has said they specifically designed it that way. The phasing through is the survivors passing through each other rather than shoving each other along which the team designed into the game to prevent player from shoving each other off high ledges to their deaths (listen to the commentary they will tell you this). AI faults or not really faults so much as failure to figure a path (some glitches cause infected to stand there staring at you snarling), and notice how I said exploits of design not AI failure.

So before you go spouting off that I am some PC elitist who hates consoles and console gaming in general than understand that I love both PC and Console gaming, hell I got into gaming because of the N64 and a PC. So do not try to make me seem like I am starting a flame war rather than just trying to figure out some flaws in a community for a great game on both mediums. It makes me sad that I can not try and figure out legitimate problems in my online gaming experience without being dubbed some kind of flame war inspiring troll.

Consoles are just generally aimed at the younger audience.

In order to game on a PC, you would need to be tech-savvy (to a minor extent IMO) which is very offputting among the vast majority of said young audience. Thus PC users are generally older and they take multiplayer a little bit more serious than many MANY of the people on Xbox Live.

Console users tend to play multiplayer games as if they were playing a Single Player game; i.e - don't give a rats ass about ones teammates. Console users play games for their own amusement only while PC gamers I would say generally play games from both a strategic perspective, fun and social reasons

Also, on an interesting side-note, most people who play Left 4 Dead on a PC have played most (if not all) Valve games. I have yet to see a single person on Left 4 Dead on PC who has not played Half-Life 1/2/Episodes, Team Fortress 2, Portal etc. While on consoles the premise is entirely different. A complete beginner at FPSs could have seen the Left 4 Dead box on GameStop an dthey buy it and they play it for the first couple of times on Xbox Live thus explaining a lot why they fit into the behavioral patterns you describe.

Correct me if I am wrong.

As for the Microphone... well... a PC microphone can cost you $5 and even though it's complete and utter crap (like mine) it' still very usable in games like Left 4 Dead while the Xbox Live Headset costs ?35 (50 USD I believe?) which is very offputting...

Console. It sucks. There are so many little annoying ass kids on XBL and that makes it hard to get a good game going. Ever. Quite sad actually.

Console, and I play with friends IRL. I don't like playing online that much; I'm pretty shy.

The trick with Xbox Live is to friend players that you played a good game with. Personally, if I had a good enough PC I'd play L4D on that. However, there are some strategic and skilled players on the console too. If you're lucky you'll find them.

Playing with your elbows?
no, that was my comparison of console shooters in general to UT1 back when i could maintain a 40+ headshot chain in UT1

Just because you see a community as trash (Not as harsh i gather) does not make it so, therefore any thing stated by using statements such as "why does the Xbox live community do this" is Invalid, it is a matter of opinion

i admit that saw i more aggression in your words than actually present such is the flaws of the internet.

glitches i do not experiance, as for the standing and snarling, i deemed that as it should've been, i did not see that as a glitch.

the snob elitist comment sprang to mind when you said "console players are generally morons"
my reaction was hardly un provoked and irrational, it was infact justified.

as for the bodies, i played it online back when it first came out and did not experiance such a thing, or did not notice, i regulary play co-op with my brother so i do log on several hours every 2 days.

and no i did not see you, nor call you a Flame war troll, i saw things i disagreed with and replied thusly, that is not mean people are calling you a troll.

Alright first of all let me say sorry for the harshness of my last comment as I take comments like that rather personally even though I know I should not. Yes you are correct I do not think of the XBL community as trash as I do have friends there who I have never seen.My belief that console players are generally morons does come from a long line of playing with hooting hollering dickheads on CoD and L4D and online pc gamers (IMO) tend to be a bit more mellow and deeper thinking though there are plenty of column A there as well (I know, I have seen them). Oh and by the by (not sarcastic just the way I speak so no misunderstanding)I am not talking about the community itself, if it seems that way I apologize, I am only talking about a majority of players in those games. I hold no grudge against the community as a whole just the numerous idiots that happen to live there. Unfortunately it seems the moron with a bullhorn is the lowest common denominator of the XBL demographic so I will be using sweeping terms.

Also yes if a zombie runs to your position and just looks at you standing and snarling (IE not that he hasn't noticed you but would in fact chase you otherwise) that is a glitch in the experience as the zombie is supposed to climb up to your position in order to continue attacking (if you want an example of this go to the crescendo moment int the No Mercy subway and jump climb your way from the tanks next to the switch [jump on top of the circle that juts out from it then on top of the tank itself] then on top of the ledge over the door that needs to open for you to continue), that is a glitch. Also yes you can pass through the others players and yes it isn't very noticeable at all (it isn't meant to be), but that is how corner defense works. (example of phasing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DR4GUqfrCg 7 seconds in he passes through Francis) (example of glitch I mean in above http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffRGcvjAT94 1:13 in the zombies don't just climb on the rock they stand there staring)

Finally as an elaboration I made this post after just having a string of these idiot players (the two guys in versus that just stared at each other and I had just had a team that all though they were god damn Rambo made reality) so I was just a wee bit pissed at time of posting. So again apologies if it seems like I am bashing the entire community I am not I am an angry player wondering why it at least seems why so many stupid people are playing online co-op and why they do what they do.

And this phrase caused me to think you thought me as some kind of flame war instigator "but if there's one thing i hate its a PC snob." the undercurrent I get from that is that you think me someone just trying to tout PC superiority over Console. As you said one of the problems of text based chat.

I am a console tard but keep in mind that Xbox players have one fatal plauge. Immature 10 year olds. (I say Immature becuase I have met a bunch of younger players who understand and respect the game and it's players.) They belive that certain things describe a player such as rank rather then skill. For example in Halo I played one of these immature brats who claimed that I sucked due to my rank. I went on to outscore that punk by 10 kills after which he blames it on lag. The same thing occurs in Call of duty, Gta 4, and Saints row. They belive that there way is the only way. They will take zero critiscim and will often curse all the time (Also don't be surprised if you hear the parents scolding them in the background.)

However this is my opinion you may blame the problem on anything you want but I belive it is the Immature losers.
