Please people, do not bring up the old "sex sells" trope. This is not about sex; this is about showing an injured, abused looking woman and portraying that as sexy.

PETA has the Holocaust [http://adland.tv/content/petas-top-five-most-offensive-and-most-sexist-ads] or human slavery. Besides, they're financially corrupt and kill rescue animals.

Domestic violence (it is in no way a gender issue no matter how many "violence against women" campaigns misrepresent it because the narrative of female victimhood is more marketable) is not a laughing matter, and imagery evoking it should not be used in this fashion for reasons of taste. Of course, PETA is a morally bankrupt organization devoted to murdering animals for no good reason, so I would expect no less of them. Come to think of it, maybe they just wanted to show solidarity with the bastards who design domestic violence campaigns. You know, an honor-among-thieves sort of thing.

Mostly this is just stupid. I don't think it's advocating domestic violence or anything, but PETA's implication that going vegan can make people have crazy-awesome sex like porn stars is just idiotic.

PETA is like a retard in school, no matter how stupid, rude, violent or disgusting they are they never get in trouble. OT i don't think they should be doing this, violence is not a good add campaign
you don't like PETA? You must hate animals then! where's my red paint!?

seriously though the Ad is alright, nothing special as far as PETA goes it's pretty tame. how is this ad any worse than anything AXE puts out? Just because it's PETA?

And I do not support PETA at all, I support groups like the SPCA who actually look to help animals instead of try to make them our equals (what?) If it was like the rest of their ad's that filled me with hatred and bile then I would say it is a good ad.

But it didn't, it was tame. Peta uses these ad's to get attention and it didn't get mine.

It has nothing to do with violence towards women, it basically says that if you don't eat meat you will become a stallion. Now that thats out of the way i think its retarded. I guess 'think about the poor animals' route didn't work so now they are trying to convince people that you can have better sex if you don't eat meat, cos sex sells right?

I am a proud supporter of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) and I think this add is in opposition to their values... It's trying to STOP us from eating meat, not encouraging us. THIS ADD IS ILLEGAL!!!

I think the most chilling thing about this commercial are the two messages it is sending at the same time:

1) We really, really love animals.
2) Our lifestyle grants us amazing sexual prowess.
3) Did we mention that we really, really love animals?

I shall have a big, juicy Steak for dinner. Or maybe some Veal.

PETA's a joke. And this just adds to their already ridiculous reputation.

I clicked on this link wondering whether PETA could out-stupid themselves once again.

Disappointed I was not.

Edit: Try watching the video without sound. What was already insulting now skyrockets straight into full-on domestic abuse without as much as a hint to the contrary.

PETA, always reaching lower and lower! What a useless organization! I appreciate its core message (be nice to animals) but its organizers and leaders must be batshit crazy to think this is acceptable advertising. They've twisted a nice simple message about ethical treatment for animals and turned it into some crazy, semi-militant, indoctrinated way of thinking. In fact, there's very little actual protecting of animals going on now - don't they put down more animals than they save? For whatever reason, whenever I think of PETA, I also think of Scientology and the Westboro Baptist Church - guess they're my top three crazy people organizations!

I see what you did there.
OT: Doesn't this commercial have things backwards? Lots of people who decide to go vegan end up doing it wrong and end up malnourished and lethargic. Erectile disfunction seems more likely than becoming a vegan sex god.

this advert brings so many questions to my mind. Who is so easily swayed that they will completely change they're eating patterns to be better at sex?, Why did they choose to have the woman look like a domestic abuse victim for the majority of the ad?, Why were they still in their underwear when the woman has obviously already gone to the hospital for a neckbrace? a and why didn't they just change position if it was doing that much damage to her?

PETA your trying to fight for animal rights which is awesome but for gods sake you do it so badly

PETA's true colors are beginning to show throughout the world and they are no longer being seen as animal loving hippies and more of tasteless, cancerous cells towards animal breeding, domesticated animals and pets, and the overall right for humans and animals to interact with.

That and they have a sick sense of humor (has anyone seen the Pedigree commercial where the KKK member walks into the meeting?).

.. I think I love you for how short and brilliantly eloquent that was. Hats off to you sir. You said it far better than I could.

OT - Sexual violence isn't funny, and shouldn't be treated so flippantly. Shame on PETA yet again, for totally missing the mark in advertising an organization that does more harm than good.
