You want to know how we can be certain that I'm an awful person? The thing that bothered me the most in that video was that there was a "Please subscribe!" button.
You're kidding right? Practically every ad they make gets a thread on most major forums. They get news stories on gaming, movie, and various other news sites all the time. Countless tweets and shares. Etc, etc...WinkyTheGreat said:It's stupid, for sure. PETA has never had a good advertising department.

It's PETA, they want attention. Want to know how to thwart them? Stop giving them attention.bean burrito said:-snip-

The ads put PETA in public consciousness, get people talking, and create awareness. They intentionally make controversial, inane, and ridiculous ads to achieve this effect.
Off the top of your head, how many other animal rights groups can you think of?

That's it actually. Fair point.
I'd have to disagree. Because of their advertising their name is the first most people think of when it comes to animal rights, as a result, if someone is inspired to donate to such a charity, odds are they'll go with PETA simply because it's become such a household name.WinkyTheGreat said:That's all well and good but is the advertising effective in drawing people to their cause? No. The point of advertising is to sell a product or idea, and PETA doesn't do much of that so much as make people care less.
They do. They often send undercover workers into labs that inhumanely test on animals, or pet stores that abuse their animals. I saw a video from them where they sent a worker into a lab that tested bug repellant by shaving a rabbit's back, turning it over, and setting it on top of a tank filled with thousands of mosquitoes. That same lab also removed teeth from dogs with pliers and no sedatives or pain meds. PETA is the reason why that lab was closed down.Evil Smurf said:Do PETA actually do anything to help, or do they just complain?
Shock and Awe said:No, mostly because its just fucking stupid. There is really no other way to put it.
