I haven't had anything deleted from my Photobucket account, actually. I have essentially stopped using Photobucket though, as I found out my ISP has some connection with Yahoo. Therefore, I get a Pro account, with unlimited storage space, for free on Flickr.
Flickr is harder to start off using, but once you get used to it, it's a better site. It might stop you uploading some of the stuff you want to, but it is a good site for hosting images and stuff.
If ensuring you can have all your images kept safely is so important, why not just buy some more webspace and use that?
