Poll: Pirates or Ninjas?

I'm voting Pirate, or I would if there was a poll. Ninja weren't trained for one-on-one honourable fighting. Throw them in a cage and the pirate is going to come out on top. Given a more expansive situation perhaps not, but I want a cage fight damn it.

Ninjas! Duh! even pirate fans know that ninjas would win! I mean come on. Loud drunken sailors (with questionable orientations) versus stealthy and charismatic stallions who kill you before you even know that they are there. I mean the pirates don't even get a shitty quick time event. they just die!

but are you sure? Ninjas are masters of trickery, what stops them from using a flash bomb and then finishing them off? Or throwing a kunai or shuriken to injure them from a distance, then cutting them down with their swords?

What swords? Ninjas were not trained swordsmen. I'm not saying pirates were but they certainly had one thing on the ninja, guns.

On a technical level, ninjas would win. As masters of stealth and disguise, they would easily be able to sneak aboard the ship, waiting until most all the pirates were drunk or asleep, then assassinate them all one by one or poison the food and rum.

As for which I prefer, I like both for different reasons.

I'd have to say Ninjas because historically speaking, they've trained all their lives to kill/hurt/maim people and were quite often very fit and healthy. Whereas a pirate went often untrained (for combat)and often suffered from STD's, scurvy, malnutrition, and a lack of limbs.

well not only did they have tanto, which he or she could use in the fight, but it was also believed that they had inexpensive swords that broke after a few slashes (it was ninja-to or something similar), so they did have swords but not katana, they were illegal if you were not a samurai. But considering the fact that a pirate and a ninja would fight, what stops a ninja from illegally acquiring one? he would still be somewhat skilled with the katana.

Also as for the guns, that's where the flash powder comes into play, what stops them from blinding them with flash powder, how are they going to use their guns if they are momentarily blinded?
