To quote Moviebob "Pixar, on the other hand, has trended toward lead characters and, some would say, sensibilites that run more toward the Y side of chromosome street. Beneath all the rainbow-colored CGI swirl, these are MAN movies, about MANLY men, doing MASCULINE things. Sorta, kinda, point is, it was different."

Pixar has never let me down. Sure, there were a few that weren't great *cough*Cars*cough*Ratatouille*cough*, but never have they made a bad film. They never come across as "in it for the money" and they're just so amazing. I always get excited when I see the first trailer for one of their movies.

I have never before been brought to tears out of suspense. SUSPENSE! Not cheap musical montages, character deaths, or sappy romance stories... But suspense. As the toys drifted into the incinerator and they all joined hands and accepted their fate, I felt like my childhood was drifting with them. Dear god, such... Raw emotion was pulled from me in an animated fiction about TOYS. I've never felt that way during a film, and I probably never will again.
dittos, my gf dove her head into my stomach cause she and i thought the same thing; "holy crap, this is it..." and then...
deus ex machina claw!!
no deus ex machina, the aliens found the claw and wandered off when they got to the dump
Actually, they got hit by a bulldozer upon arrival. I thought they were killed off, to be honest. That's what made the incinerator scene so much more impacting for me. I couldn't think of any conceivable way for them to escape. I hadn't realized the aliens survived.
well, the incenerator scene for me was "moviebob said that the aliens were gonna do something awesome! they were saying oooohh clawwww earlier! that equals salvation!

Huh. Then I'm glad I forgot about that line. I would have been mad if that scene was ruined for me.

I quite like them. Very well set movies, really. Pixar makes movies that can appeal to everyone, and even more so to people with a sense of the importance of companionship and camaraderie. Planning on seeing Toy Story 3 tomorrow.

I actually don't hold it against Pixar for my lack of loving Cars. I don't like NASCAR. I don't have any anger towards it, I just don't know ANYTHING about it. I had to be told by friends that I had missed half the jokes.
I'm also not fond of Ratatouille, mostly because the ending makes no sense to me.

Well I think Pixar are good at combining lovable, unique characters, great stories, lightness of tone, genuine humour, tear-wrenching sadness, all around warm, good feelings, beautiful visuals, excellent music, great voice-acting and originality.

I loved the toy story movies, but I get Pixar mixed up sometimes. Who made The Incredibles?
Pixar.

It is my personal favourite out of the Pixar collection. Just the deep, adult message behind the kiddy fun... it was amazing! And I cried during the Up montage of the two children growing up. It was so, well, deep and nostalgic.

Has anyone seen all their shorts? The full-length films are great, but Pixar is also a master of the short film. Look up "Lifted" on YouTube (I struggle to embed, so sorry). It is hilarious - a masterpiece in 5 minutes.

They have consistently made good movies because they put so much work into them. They have amazing directors at the front, and amazing people behind them. Really when you think that the 'low points' of their portfolios are Cars (and now Cars 2, in a shocking move) and Ratatouille there isn't much you can say to complain.

I love Pixar. Toy Story was the first movie I ever saw, at one year old. I grew up with that movie. I had pretty much every toy in that movie, from Buzz and Woody to random toys in the background. I must have watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 over 100 times each as a kid.

I've seen every Pixar movie in theaters and loved each of them, though some more than others. I saw Toy Story 3 a few days ago. I'm currently 16 and I consider myself highly emotionally detached, especially when it comes to movies. I sobbed my eyes out at the end of that movie. I literally hadn't cried for years until then. Just... damn.

You ever notice how nearly everyone here has the same opinion on Pixar? Which is to say "Oh, I love their stuff, yadda yadda, I didn't really like that one they did that one time, but that's okay because they did that one and..."

Well, that's the same opinion I have, with the blacksheep film being Toy Story 2 and the make-up film being Rattawhatsit (that film did things with CGI I didn't know were possible).

Anything i say has been said before. So know this:
I sit with the majority on this one.
wall-e was their best and in the top 25 movie of all time in my books.
cars was their worst and was still better than most movies.

Pixar is amazing. They are made even more amazing because of the fact that the rest of Hollywood is done. They are OUT of ideas.

I actually remembered that line during the showdown on the dumpster, and thought the aliens would do something awesome, but noooooo one of them had to get his foot stuck. However I forgot it by the time they made it to the junkyard.

The part I did remember while they slowly slid into the incinerator was how this brought finality to the series and that things couldn't be like before no matter how hard Woody tried. I think I was in shock during that scene, and maybe blinked twice.

Pixar made me cry. Ever since Wall-E and Up, I've been awaiting their next release. Now having seen Toy Story 3, there's only so much I can say. I feel like a man-child reclaiming his childhood. No movie has floored me like this one.

You know what part I'm talking about. The entire industrial/dump scene. It was the look on Buzz's face that sent me over the edge. I almost had to look away. That was until you know who saved the day. Probably everyone in the theater applauded and cheered. While I, frozen with pure emotion, felt tears flow down my cheek. I was shaking the entire time after.
