I pesonally like his reveiws, although I have a difference in opinion sometimes, ex. I liked some of the games he hated, most notably the witcher, although most of the time I do agree with his veiws, and it is fun to watch him verbaly abuse games. Although I have started talking to myself in the same fast paced way, and have since watched his reveiws less.

I loved that E3 review so friggin' much.
Fair enough but I didn't. After all he's supposed to review games and I'd rather that he dug out an old and interesting game, like the thief series or painkiller, instead of making speculation over games which he'll probably review in the future (like he did with most of the games after the first e3 review).
There's nothing wrong with speculation, I rather enjoy what he has to say, be it comical or not (though it usually is).
By the way, I bought Painkiller because of him, and I must say his review was dead on.

He's good for quick laughs and once you look past the rambling and dick-jokes to the heart of the message, the reviews are quite accurate and in most cases resemble my opinion. While Yahtzee does go quite hard on games I've though to be decent/fairly good, he does appreciate most of the same things I do in games.

While we disagree quite a lot on some issues (RTS games in general), I've yet to be disappointed by Yahtzees recommendation and on the other hand if he says a game is c**p, there is usually a reason there and while he does exaggarate some faults more than others, the point still stands.

FYI, I likely would have never bought Psychonauts or Painkiller without his reviews and for bringing those games to my attention, I'm his fanboy forever.

Yes, creepy. But I don't care and since I don't do stalking, I doubt Yahtzee cares too much either.

I usually find his reviews funny. There's only been a few that I felt were mediocre, and one that I refuse to watch. His style of humor is such that, even when I disagree with him, I'm still able to laugh.
Which do you refuse to watch?

It's funny. I'm a big fan of fighting games, JRPGs, visual novels, and a ton of other things he explicitly doesn't like, and yet I laughed at the Soul Calibur 4, Smash Brothers Melee, TWEWY, etc. reviews (...okay, maybe not Valkyria Chronicles, but that was just a mediocre review). I'm occasionally confused by the vitriol, but I can accept taste differences. The Wii bashing thing at the beginning of that one review just struck me as incredibly stupid.
Hey, I like those genres too, but I see where he's coming from, and I find his points rather difficult to argue against. I love JRPGs (for the most part), for instance. But I see where he's coming from. More interactivity in the story would be a welcome change in direction for JRPGs, and the visual novel thing gets kind of boring when you're supposed to be playing a video game. Especially when you just kicked the ass of a giant demon thing and you want to use the shiny sword they just gave you to kick some freaking ass!
That wasn't my point. I read books before I played games, and I'm perfectly willing to sacrifice story interactivity if the story is good enough to begin with...but I know that opinion isn't widespread. My point was that I don't mind in the least that he dislikes genres I love, but I considered him unbelievably closed-minded on the gaming platform thing.

That's my point, his time is better spent by bringing attention to under rated or over looked games like painkiller than bashing a bunch of games that are yet to exist. He's been surprised before by games he thought would be bad that turn out to be good so why waste time talking about them when he's likely to review them anyway? I'd rather find more gems like painkiller anyday.

From experience, my opinions often end up being like his. I trust what he says about games I don't really care about, but that's how I treat every reviewer.

I mean, I'm not going to let him talk me out of buying Resident Evil 5, but I'll totally get a game if he provides a good case for it (such in the case of Saints Row 2).

And that's fine, he does that too. Look at Spiderman: Web of Shadows. I got that too, 'cause of him. Although I've got it on DS and I'm sure it's not the same, again, he was dead on.

I like Yahtzee because he's the game reviewer I see eye-to-eye with most often. He has a vocabulary that I envy, he shares my dislike for Anime (for the same reasons, no less), and he's honest about his opinions. He inspired me to give Saint's Row 2 a go. I rented and eventually bought it, and now it sits on my "Top 5 Games Ever" list, just below "Resident Evil 4". There's an element of comradery in there, too, what with him being a writer and all. I think he's funny without trying to be. I also think he's not really as big a douche as he lets on. If you watch his "Webcomics" Zero Punctuation video, he even says that "the bigger a douche you are, the more traffic you get as spectators line up to see you jump around the monkey cage screaming and flinging your poo." In layman's terms, he knows that a reviewer with a douchey personality will always attract more viewers than one who is mild-mannered. Perhaps he is a bit of a jagoff in person, but his Zero Punctuation persona seems way too much like a characaturized self-critique to be a real personality. Also he hates SSBB, as do I (debate it all you want- won't change the fact that the series went downhill after the original).

Get over it, no offense, but just take the joke and move on. If your unable to laugh at yourself then your going to have a tough road ahead of you.

I like hearing him ramble on about the games he plays. I'm not a very good judge of good/bad/he's not as good as he used to be, etc.
He just makes me chuckle while I waste some time. And that is all I really ask of a webshow.
I agree. He's always been funny, and helps me pass the time with laughter. I don't really take his reviews too seriously since he is mainly an entertainer. And really, what more could you want with a web show?
Well, I could ask for a pet monkey and a thousand dollars to be sent to me every time I watched, but that's just being too damned hopeful for my liking.
I also love his quotable moments. Short answer/long answer is applicable in so many places.
Well if that's being too hopeful, maybe 500 dollars and an untamed monkey is more reasonable? But yeah, I agree again, his quotes can be hilarious, and the short answer/long asnwer has been used by me so many times.

No, I read the entire thing, and I think it's childish to ignore something that has differing opinions. Yahtzee hates the Wii, you don't; but coming onto the forums just to tell everyone that you refuse to watch a review where he bad-mouths the Wii is a strange move.

He is a critic plain and simple I cant agree with all the things he says but I get what he means and its usually quite entertaining, Not what i would call a review but a scathing report. Something I do enjoy every week though.

I came into a thread asking why I liked Yahtzee and answered the question (I almost always find him funny), with random qualifiers (there's a few I consider less entertaining, and one I hate). I don't bother naming any, but two people ask me which specific one I hate, so I answer them. How is any of that strange?

And yes, it's probably a little irrational to refuse to watch it. But ultimately, it's only one review, one I wasn't too impressed with anyway (yes, I finished watching it). I just dislike it because it opens with a rant I disagreed with strongly, rather than a joke I disagreed with and could subsequently ignore. That's why I wondered whether you actually read my whole post (which pointed out that SSBB is not only a favorite game of mine, but a favorite one of Yahtzee's reviews); your objection made absolutely no sense.

I'm sure he gives an accurate review for some people, but my standards and his seem to be complete opposites. He's not a bad reviewer by any means; I just don't agree with what he says a lot of the time, so I've learned to sort of disregard the actual content of his reviews.

He's definitely hilarious though.

I watch ZP mostly for the humour, there's always at least a couple of good jokes in each episode. While I do usually agree with the things Yahtzee complains about in games, I don't value that as much. Besides, if I bought games based on ZP alone, I'd have 4, maybe 5 games.
