Yes I do, the reason is so I can learn what the person did wrong, so I will be able to avoid making the same mistake in the future.

This also applies to suspensions and bans.

I find myself unsure of what to say, lest I bring the probation wrath upon my own self. Simply put, yes, I do look to see why people are put on probation.

Yes I do and sometimes I see its for a completely stupid reasons.
What's worse is when the rules are unevenly applied.

Some dude insulted me (called me a bigoted mad man). I didn't think too much of it, called him an idiot and moved on. But he got his panties in a twist and reported it. The mods put me on probation - fair enough, I should have paid more attention to the rules.

But what REALLY annoys me is that they did nothing to him. Even when I reported HIS post and asked why I'd get probation for calling him an idiot, but he can call me much worse things and get away with it.

Friends on the mod team is the only conclusion I can reach, which was pretty disappointing because I'd previously considered the Escapist to be better than that.

For the most part. Sometimes just to see if they deserved what wrath they wrought, sometimes just to see what does incur mod wrath.

I voted Dave Grohl because anything he comes in contact with becomes 87% 100% Infinitely cooler.

Dare I say, /thread?

OT: Yep. Take it as an example. Try not to repeat other peoples mistakes.
[sub][small]That, and I'm just curious to see what horrible, unspeakable acts they've committed..... [/small][/sub]

I misread the title as Prohibition! Isn't that hilarious!

Yes, I want to know what they did, then laugh at them, then not do it.
No better way than learning from the mistakes of others.

Guy A robs a store. Guy A gets arrested. Guy B decides it was a good thing he didn't go with Guy A.

Well, i beleive it usually goes more Guy A attempts to rob a store. Guy A is shot in self defence. Guy B attempts to rob a store with a shotgun. Win.

Yep, i sure do. I usually abandon my current thread i am reading and check out why they were banned in the hope of finding something hillariously (SP?) funny

I can't resist.
Plus I was once put on probation.

The thread was "Why Playstation Move will make the Wii obsolete"
and I just laughed. Apparently you can't "Just Laugh."

Now that I have said that, I will laugh too
hahahaha

Surprisingly I've seen someone else make this exact thread before, in any case my answer is still the same. Yes, I usually do check out why people were put on probation, I've come to the conclusion that the mods are a little sporadic sometimes.

I'll admit to myself i have way too much time on my hands and i will quite frequently skip between link after link. I have recently found myself seeing amny people with a little comment here or there and then "This user was put on probation for ..." I find it almost impossible to resist to see what they were put on it for.

So i'm wondering, do any of you guys, or gals, check out why people have been put on probation?

Please, no reconstructions of the probation awarding action. I can only plea :)

EDIT: This is probation on the escapist forums, not in law terms :)
I always do. It helps me to know what to do and not to do.

Sometimes, although I usually only check it if the person is suspended or banned. Ever wonder why they have this feature?

If I see someone who's on probation, I usually click on it, just to see why.
