It's probably real...
I heard a story once about this girl that had problems or something, and that a bunch of her stuff all over the house started floating... and stuff...

On the other hand, this got me thinking. Now I'm really not trying to start anything, so if someone goes after me about this and I think it looks a little like the kindlings of a flame war, I just won't answer. Also, I'm just relating my experiences and I don't expect anyone here to believe me, and I won't try to convince you. I'm a Christian, and I know that prayer works. I have personally walked up to people and prayed for them, and within seconds a broken leg is completely healed, or Scoliosis is totally gone, or chronic depression stops and never returns, or as long as I remember to check up on that person. Prayer has done amazing things, and often I'm surprised at how effective it is. As much as prayer has worked for me, there have been just as many times when it does nothing. But it's worked more than enough to convince me.
You know, I used to pray to the great Juju at the bottom of the sea, and I found something remarkable happening: As long as I didnt ask for the completely rediculous (Sadly, I really wanted a translating fish T-T),roughly 50% of the time, whatever I prayed for, came to be! Does that make me a believer in said great Juju?

No, it doesnt. I only means probability is one of the more predictable version of mathematics.
True, except bones usually don't have a 50% probability of completely healing five minutes after they had been broken. Of course I wouldn't know personally, I've never broken a bone. The difference is I'm praying for completely ridiculous things.
Oh Im sorry, I forgot to scream "BULL****", my bad :D
I dont mean to insult, but Im not going to trust someone on a gaming site to tell me he's healed bones with prayer. Im sure you can see the reason in that. Then again, you are a christian... (jk, easy jokes ftw!)

Oh wow, I actually didnt see that one myself.... *feels slightly pathetic now*

I actually meant another one, but its stupifyingly specific, and I highly doubt anyone will get it.....

(Have some internets anyway though, a reference is a reference afterall!)

I understand perfectly ^_^ I don't expect you to believe me, as I've already stated, it's pretty unbelievable. I would never believe it if I hadn't experienced it myself, it's a bit like having a firm disbelief in extraterrestrial intelligence, only to have your mind changed one day by a UFO which lands in your backyard, picks you up, and takes you to the mothership for a few days. I know this is real, whether you agree with me or not is irrelevant, and I can't think of anything to use as proof so I'm not going to waste my time trying. That's all there is to it. On the other hand, yeah, babelfish is pretty obvious. Out of curiosity though, what were you thinking of?

A bit off topic, but isn't it weird how a devout, apparently Jesus reincarnate christian has the title of a Dark Lord of evil?

Only difference is that extraterrestrial "intelligence" as you choose to call it, is something that makes statistical sense. With the amount of planets in the universe (what with it having a diameter of at least 93 billion light years) it makes total sense to asume at least one of them developed simmilarly to ours. Whereas choosing to explain every unnanswered question you might have with an invisible man behind some clouds seems slightly less... sensible, and more like a refusal to accept you just dont have said answers, and probably never will have them.

Oh and I meant this:
EDIT: I just realised I come across as very mean D: sowwy, hugsy?

I'd like to think its true but it doesn't really make sense to me, tends to be the stranger people that boast of such abilities, the ones i probably wouldn't believe anyway

Haha, yeah I totally agree with that video. I was brought up Christian, but I turned Atheist years ago because of exactly this sort of thing. The reason I'm Christian now is because something happened to me that you probably wouldn't believe anyway. I believe in the big bang theory, I believe in evolution, I'm still an atheist when it comes to pretty much any belief. Only reason I'm Christian is because God showed himself to me almost a year ago, just randomly on the bus one day, and since then I've been happy. My beliefs from my atheism dictate that I be as happy as I can. When I think about God, that makes me happy. When I pray, that makes me happy. Therefore, I'm Christian, because it makes me happy. So, I know Christianity does not make any sense, but it does make me happy so I follow it. Do you see what I'm getting at? I talk to God, He talks back, and I can't explain it, and I really don't want to. It's just how it is.

Anyone see that Derren Brown series about psychics and that?

Every time he tried to get one of them to do an experiment to prove their abilities, they declined on the fact that it was "unfair" in some way, when any moron could see the experiments were soundly planned.

If I had what are basically force powers, I'd show it off every second of every day.

These people are just full of shit, and the best thing to do is ignore them.

As any rational person with some meagre amount of common sense will tell you, bullshit.

Although it would be really cool.

That sounds absolutely fine to me ;)

Its really not "God" I have a problem with, its religion. The idea that mankind could possibly understand something as grand and epic as a God seems incredibly vain to me.

I have a question though, why do you call yourself a "Christian" if you dont believe in in the bible?
Wich, as far as I can tell, you dont, apologies if I missunderstood.
I mean, Im pretty sure all the "creating the world in six days", "God threw out lucifer", "the end of days is coming and all but christians will go to hell" and "you are born a sinner and must repent" stuff is pretty important if you want to call yourself a christian...

Is that the guy who hypnotised someone in the middle of a street and stole their watch? And did a russian roulette show on live tv?

It's easier that way. There's a group of people I hang out with, a church if you will, that call themselves Christian and they believe almost the same thing as I do. My girlfriend calls herself a christian and she believes the same thing I do. I know it's probably more correct if I use a different term, but I can't think of one. And I believe in Jesus, although I don't think he did anything big and spiritual for humanity, he just wanted to make a point, which was stop being mean to other people. I believe in the bible as far as it goes, which basically means I understand that the guys who wrote it had no fucking clue what they were talking about, so the details should be taken with a grain of salt. That's what I believe.

Em just a quick gripe psychokinesis movements of objects, bending of metals, and determining the outcome of events while pyrokinesis is the act of setting things on fire with your mind. If it were possible however, it would be cool.
I was under the impression that movement of objects was telekinesis, setting shit on fire was pyrokinesis determining outcome of events something related but not related at the same time, and that bending of metals was grouped with telekinesis.

And then all of those abilities and then some fell under the generalized psychokinesis.

Did that make sense to you? It sure didn't to me. I need to work on my explanation skills :p
I do believe the determining outcome of events and other future sightey stuff is Precognition. Not meaning to sound like a know-it-all, just trying to spare you from exactly those kinds of people.

As for my opinion, I highly doubt it can be done. Highly doubt.

The proper term would be "deist".
Thanks, but it's not that general I think. It's like ... it's Christianity, but it's not a denomination I've ever heard of. I almost want to call it Antidenominational Christianity, because I have a big problem with organized religion as a whole. Everyone I personally know that calls themselves Christian, besides my bunch, are all ignorant pricks, and no that is not a generalization. But I digress.

If it was real they would have been able to test it a long time ago. But since this hasn't happened yet it's almost completly certain that it isn't real.
Like those R.V(Remote Viewing) experiments during WWII-the Cold War?
Since R.V. hasn't been accepted by the scientific world my guess would be that those experiments weren't very convincing.... Allot of people WANTS "R.V." to be true (allot of scientists included) but people who care about science can clearly see that there isn't enough evidence to support "R.V." at this moment. The results that "R.V" gives are simply too close to the results that you would get from simple guessing.

Some nice reading:

http://www.skepdic.com/remotevw.html
Yeah from what I understand it falls in the realm of scientifically possible...Just not plausible(or maybe its the opposite?). Same for time travel,Aliens, and the Singularity...

However the rv experiments did produce Joseph Mcmoneagle...apparently one of the only "verified" subjects. My grandfather was (allegedly) apart of the rv experiments during the cold war, he told me so... I require some proof however, but I have pics of my grand dad with Mr.Mcmoneagle...

Can I choose two?

"I want to believe but..." "It's bullshit!"
"I want to believe but..." kind of implies that your bullshit detectors are going off.
Oh, they are... But... I WANT to believe it's true! How cool would that be if we could move things with our mind???

For those who don't know what PK is, it's essentially being able to do freakin' cool shit with your mind.

Anything from moving small objects, to spontaneously lighting said small objects on fire.

Millions claim to have this ability, and there are no shortages of videos demonstrating these seemingly natural abilities on the internet and most people claim that anyone can do this sort of thing. Sounds fun.

So I wanted to know, what do you think of this? I personally want to believe that it exists and we all can do it, but so far nothing has come around to make me believe.
these people are liars who personally sicken me. The answers to questions today are hard to answer, where do we come from, why are we here, and in my example of being able to "talk with the dead" these people just make it up. They may think they are doing a good thing by helping people get over someones death but they are not. They are spouting bullshit to make someone think they are over a persons death when they should come to terms with the fact that people who die cannot contact us again. If when i die i have to float around talking to these retards I'll die a second time. I dont know what the after life is but it has to be better than what these idiots claim it is.

I saw a show with a "phycic" and after he did his guessing act a second man came on. This man said "i am not phycic, i think these men are all liars, i am a phycologist and i will top their powers without caliming to do anything super natural what so ever"

And he did. He made their acts look crap, using only knowlage and logic and actual fact he could best any "phycic" this show had to offer.

Two kinds of phycic, delusional and liar.
