Well, I solely base my buy on products that got great replay values such as games made by Blizzard. They probably saved me a ton of money throughout the years.

But I I also sometimes buy indi games which don't have that much of a replay value but instead give me quite a lot of value for a short time for a decent price.

you never base a game on repray value you deside that when one day you wake up and you just want to play a it even after a couple years XD

I don't base it on replay value, but if a game has great replay value, it will definitely count for it or against it.

Considering my last game choices- Oblivion, Rome Total War, Sins of a Solar Empire, yes, replay value si the most important thing!

And I got them when they were all $20 at the time! YOu know that game you were clamoring for all year and paid $60 for on day one? I got 3 very good games for the same you just forked over for the latest. Bahahahaha.

I will replay a game if I really enjoyed it the first time around, like at the moment I just re-started BioShock, Fallout 3 and Dead Space. Of course I'll stop playing those when BioShock 2 is released

If I really love a game then I'll happily replay it several times (Arkham Asylum, Resi 4, Mass Effect to name a few) and I do think the trophy/achievement systems help a lot with incentive for replaying a game. Obviously I'm not going to bother if I don't like the idea of playing it again, but if I want to then I'll focus on getting all the trophys I missed

Define replay value. If you mean literally playing the game over again, then no. But I almost never buy games without some kind of freeroam sandbox to wreak havok in, a lot of cool unlockables/upgrades, or a really good multiplayer that I can keep coming back to, because I don't care how good a game is. I'm not spending 60 dollars to play through a linear 10 hour campaign once. If a game is at least decent and has tons of shit to do, then it's almost a guaranteed buy from me.

If a game's good enough, I'm going to replay it anyway, despite whether or not it has "replay value."

Its kind of hard to tell if a game actually has replay value, but I rarely judge by replay value, even games that claim to have replay value start to feel tired, fallout 3 for example I've played that game and done all the missions, while thete is some replay value to be had, I did play it through a few times there will always be limited joy to be had by going through the same missions multiple times.

Well, it depends. I loved Bioshock, but took my time, found everything and did it on the hardest difficulty, and moved on. Doesn't mean I think any less of the game, I'm just happy with leaving it at that.

With other games, like Dragon Age, I simply don't have enough time to finish a game that took me 70 hours to beat twice. Especially if I have to go into the damn Fade again.

I play "casual" games for their replay value. I still occasionally torture my computer with Sierra's ancient "Jones in the Fast Lane" for sheer amusement value. Almost all of the PopCap games are quite re-playable.

Most "storyline" games are torturous when they try for replay value. Do you want to do it all again with a different costume?!... Uh, no. Thanks. Another twenty hours of your life to get the "best" ending? Oh look, I have a life calling.

The last "storyline" game I actually wanted to replay from beginning to end was Knights of the Old Republic. And that's partly because it actually rewarded playing differently with seeing different things- different dialogue, different powers, different outcomes.

I'm happy with real replay value when it's there. But if they're going to screw things up in the attempt, I'd much rather play a very good eight hour game than a mediocre twenty hour game with the option to repeat the mediocre experience.

definately not. i'm not bothered about replay value. once through is enough for me, and if i wanna play a game through more than once, that's just a bonus!
