I base the games i'm going to buy based on...
(reply + game length + fun factor) - (game cost + flaws) = ??

So ya somewhere in between.

# of potential hours of gameplay is a major criterion when I'm considering a game. If it's a game I'm going to play through once or twice and then forget about, I better get a pretty damn good value out of it, but more likely would be a game that's a true sandbox/open-ended/non-story-based game because those I can literally play for years on a buy-in as low as $30.

I do actually, it means the game has more depth to it's game play and it's a lot more interesting. I don't finish games I don't enjoy because what would be the point?

Example: Melee to Brawl. Melee I found to be so fun I played it 7 years straight and then Brawl comes out with the exact same game play except with no depth to it, it just had some extra bits n' peices and that's it, woopee.

I base my resell values on replay value.
I'll buy it if it looks good, maybe play the demo first.
If I wan't it, I'll get it.
No replay value=sold to buy more games.

As long as the game is good, I'm not too concerned. It's more a question of whether I get my money's worth or not. $60 for 10 hours of play is never a good thing, but if it's a great 10 hours then I'm not too concerned with it. If it's $60 for Game A, 10 hours with no replay, or Game B, 10 hours with lots of replay, then yes, I'll go for Game B.

I can replay just about anything, even if it's exactly the same next time. It doesn't make too much of a difference for me.

Replay value is a wonderful thing to me, what with not having any disposable income. The more hours I can enjoy from a $60 purchase the better. I think my best recent purchase based on replay value alone was Mass Effect, I snagged it for just $12 and played more than 150 hours.

I have games I love and play over and over, and I have games I love that I don't. If I liked it enough to replay it, I don't need it to be different the second time around or whatever.

I don't base my decisions on it, but replay value is always nice. But if it's a really good game, I'm sure I'm going to want to play through it again anyways.

Of course replay value is important.

I dont like to pay money for a game that is only fun once... because a few i got were only fun once, unfortunately.

I try to do that. It doesn't always succeed. I ask myself "Once I've beaten the game, will I still play it?"

I sometimes wonder a game's replay value right before buying it. But it only matters to me if it's a game I expect to be playing a while, like Oblivion or Mass Effect.

Hell yes, Bioshock and HAlf life 2 may technically be better games then Left 4 dead 2 and Team Fortress 2, but they have no replay value while i still find Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 dead 2 fun.

More games need replay value

Depends greatly on the type and length of the game.
For a 40 hour RPG, no.
For a 10 hour RPG, yes.
For a 6 hour FPS, yes.
For a 12 hour action, yes.
For strategy games of any length, no.
