Literally, a nuthouse.
A literal nuthouse? Padded rooms and all that?

Or a house made out of a gigantic peanut?
Yeah... peanuts aren't nuts! They're something else, like peas or something.
Wow. Mind = Blown.

Better rewrite that as "Cashew house" or something. :D

Let's see, I'm a student, I can barely afford my tuition with five dollars left over for gas, and I still have more money than my parents.

We're on the dirt side of dirt poor.

Yet I still like to think that I amount to something, pompous child that I am.

Family is well off. No mortgage, all cars paid off, but at the same time not a crap load of free money. Relatively speaking, I'm rich; I'm 19, living with parents, earning 40k a year. :)

I've got nothing on Bill, but I do have a picture of the two of us together:

I'm the one in the Manowar t-shirt. Bill (and everyone else) just wishes they were as cool. ;D

I live with my parents and have about $6,000 in personal money on hand. I'd say I'm doing quite well for someone with no allowance.

I'm 28 and work on the railway. Earn about £25k a year which is about the national average. Therefore i voted average. Job is only a 35 hour week, so it leaves plenty of time for gaming too :D.

Being in University, I have no income and no marketable skills of any kind. My current networth after you take my stocks, bonds, owned property and various other assets into account comes to the sum total of just over $5. I need that for beer.

I'm not going to lie, if you can play video games, you are probably fair well off. I mean, a system costs like $300, plus $60 games and controllers. (yes you can always get old systems or sued systems, but still, it's not cheap) Also taking consideration about how many people on here that play games are still just kids living with their parents, I'm not sure you can figure out if gamers will amount to anything by how they live right now.

I'm a college student with no income, so quite poor. Any video games I play are often my brother's when I visit home.

I'm average in terms of monetary income.

I'm astounding in terms of how circumstance has played to my favor.

Life is good, most of the time.

My family can be considered "kinda poor" - i mean, that computer is definetly not new and shiny. But to be honest, i'm amazed that with my "luck" i still have somewhere to live.

I'm a student, my father is pretty well off with is job but he doesn't feel he should help me out at college with his money. Because my father earns so much I cannot get EMA( which is like a student benefit thingy) so it's lose/lose. Mum helps me out as much as she can, she gives me money for food at college a long with a bit of money at the end of the week so I can treat my self... she doesn't earn much though, works at a garage cleaning and working the till. I do extra work for my brother such as baby sitting which earns me 10 a time, an I baby sit for him at least once a week. So yeah I'm sort of broke but I try and do the best with what I have, I usually starve my self at college to keep the money and put it towards buying some thing else.

I'm sure we've all heard that "People who play video games will never amount to anything" of something along those lines. I know I have.
So I got to thinking: How many Escapists did amount to something?

I myself have a very low income.
I don't like the correlation between "amounting to something" and "being rich" that your thread suggests. I'm extremely poor, yet in terms of what I've wanted to achieve in my life I've definitely "amounted" to a hell of a lot. I have a job that I love, I'm self-sufficient, have been able to do amazingly awesome things (like going on tour with rock bands, and having the most amazing girlfriends) and am pretty damn happy with life in general. Sure, I can barely pay bills and have to count coins occasionally but I've never felt as if my life so far hasn't been a "success".
