I don't like the correlation between "amounting to something" and "being rich" that your thread suggests. I'm extremely poor, yet in terms of what I've wanted to achieve in my life I've definitely "amounted" to a hell of a lot. I have a job that I love, I'm self-sufficient, have been able to do amazingly awesome things (like going on tour with rock bands, and having the most amazing girlfriends) and am pretty damn happy with life in general. Sure, I can barely pay bills and have to count coins occasionally but I've never felt as if my life so far hasn't been a "success".troth said:I'm sure we've all heard that "People who play video games will never amount to anything" of something along those lines. I know I have.
So I got to thinking: How many Escapists did amount to something?
I myself have a very low income.
