No, the Halo series is an unfun mess. It needs to be destroyed.
this is why all halo threads turn into flame wars.
The story is boring with no interesting characters. The multiplayers community is just a pain to listen to and the only redeeming feature to the game is forge.

As long as there's still a console war going on, certain titles should stay exclusive to give that console an edge, or at least a unique outlet.

Xbox losing Halo would be like Nintendo was to lose Mario, it would be a majjjjjoooor blow to the console, I mean Xbox already lost their best title to the PS3 with Mass Effect 2.

Now I have very little reason to continue owning a 360 since I'm not a big fan of Halo, and since Mircosoft doesn't even own Gears, the day that series goes multiplatform is the day the Xbox will really be in the gutter, at least for me.

if the people want their Halo give them their Halo
let them realize it's not all that good so that Xbox fanboys can stop pretending it's some hidden gem that's only available for them and no one else
then maybe Microsoft can use it's billions of dollars to make some original game that's not crap

Oh fuck I just bad mouthed Halo on the Escapist website, I'm going to get banned for not thinking the same as the site moderators
(that was sarcastic)
but serious I got a warning for "Pointless flamebait" if any falmebate has a point doesn't all falmebate have a point

you just described the entire FPS genera. except for forge mode. it's fun to make maps that no one plays correctly

I agree with Lukemdizzle.

As an aside, I went for the "GREEDY XBOX FANBOY RAAR OMNOMNOM" option. Halo's traditionally been an Xbox title (though I heard there were a couple of badly-done PC ports) and it wouldn't seem right to change that.

Halo is a xbox game, when see it you know xbox, when you hear it xbox, when you eat it...xbox.

OT:I wouldn't mind it on PC or PS3, i know it will sell like hotcakes, but MS need it on the Xbox cos that and Gears of war are the main reasons people buy it.

PC at best. PS3 sales will be marginal since they already have Haze, while PC gamers will benefit from Modding.

Naaaah.

Nothing personal towards Halo but I've just never understood the hype behind it and I doubt people will be playing it on the PS3 in droves. The game is synonymous with the xbox series of consoles and that's where it should pretty much stay. Not meant in a bitter tone but as a matter-of-fact voice :)

I prefer Resistance and Fallout 3 to be honest as I've tried Halo and after finishing it, I just thought "That's it? It's alright but it's nothing to wet pants over or start wars on behalf of"
It's hype has gotten to the point where I would like to hit people over the head with mallets however but not in a nasty hate-fuelled cauldron of rage, just a "can you think about any other FPS for five minutes besides that...thing?"

Haze?! That souless...thing?!! It was a living joke, a real comedy of errors posing as a game

No, because I don't give a fuck. There's many other shooters out there, many of which are better and others that are at least equivalent.

PC maybe, but Microsoft does need as much as they can offer in the way of "true" Xbox 360 exclusives. Good business sense would suggest that Halo 3 and onward not be ported to the PC. Likewise, porting Halo games to the PS3 would be detrimental to the marketability for the Xbox 360 console. Essentially that would remove a selling point from the 360 and add a selling point to it's direct competitor the PS3.

Microsoft may at this point seem better off if they did port Halo to other platforms if one considered only the revenue sales of Halo games. However, by porting the games Microsoft is essentially abandoning profit that would be made on the sale of 360 software and accessories if the console was a more attractive product to consumers (both for initial purchase and continued use).

I'm going to say no as I've been looking at this issue from a Microsoft Games Studios' business strategy standpoint, which is the only logical approach.

Why exactly does something being unappealing to nathan-dts make said thing deserving of destruction?

Why is there no "I don't really care" option?

OT: I think you can figure out my opinion.
That's because i want to know what is your opinion on this subject
But that is my opinion, indifference.
Indifference is the lack of an opinion. If you lack an opinion on the issue you shouldn't pretend to discuss it as you have. It is naturally and sensibly assumed that since you've entered this thread and chose to post a response that you have some opinion on the thread's topic.

Yes. No. Maybe.

Pick one or leave. Sorry for any offense that my reply might cause, it's not intentional.

wasn't the original Halo a port from the PC version?
OT: I'm not going to buy it so it doesn't really matter to me...
no it was the exact opposite the PC was a console port.
my bad than, I just remember seeing it on the PC before the Xbox...
No harm done :)
Kind of both correct.

It was being developed originally for macOS/Windows, then Microsoft grabbed Bungie and it was xbox exclusive, then ported to Win

I wouldn't mind, I'd like to give the series a try but I'm not too bothered about it.

Not PS3 because that's Sony's platform and Microsoft paid for the development of Halo games and owns the rights to the game. They're competitors, it's just not goign to happen

But Halo should be on PC for the following reasons:
-Microsoft needs to support PC gaming on their own damn operating system more (as they have promised) as Valve needs good competition
-PC fans of the Halo series have followed from Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2... now they are left high and dry
-PC release could fix many "issues" like FOV, AA, Frame-rate, resolution plus not have to pay for Xbox Live
-Mouse Aim, Baby. OOOOOOH YEAAAAAH!
-Piracy is a bit of a moot point considering the piracy of Halo Reach on 360. Cutting off from XBL the few dumb enough to play online before release will do nothing, post release modded consoles and pirated games seem to be undetectable.
