Fair needs to be fair after all.
Agreed. If we can have LittleBigPlanet then they can have Halo. :-D

Halo CE made it to the PC, and I doubt Microsoft will let their goose that craps golden eggs go so easily. Maybe if Sony shared an equally good game that also made a lot of money, Halo could spread its influence into the PS3. But at what cost? PSN would dissolve further.

Eeeeh, they're welcome to try it if they like, but I don't think you'll find a lot of PC players lining up to buy it.

CE was, compared to most other shooters on the platform, uninspired and somewhat run of the mill, but it was competent enough, I guess. At least worth the bargain bin price I paid for it, so all's good.
Halo 2 on the other hand was a complete and utter failure, a shoddy, poorly performing, half-assed port which had the gall to go the extra mile at pissing people off by requiring vista and charging people for the online play. (Needless to say, I stayed well clear of it, as did a large part of the PC playerbase)

So no, I don't think it should come to the PC, but that's because I'm nice like that and don't particularly wish M$ to lose money on a pointless venture which will only cause even more halo threads.

No. It is an exclusive to the Xbox and owned by Microsoft. Given that they have nothing to gain with such a move, there is no reason for such a shift to be made. Were it not owned by Microsoft, then my answer would change.

Well, given Halo 1 & 2 are already on PC (and are awesome), I'm continually disappointed that Bungie decided to stop there :(

Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing Halo on ALL the platforms, but that will never happen.

Why is there no "I don't really care" option?

OT: I think you can figure out my opinion.
And yet i wonder why you posted on this thread...

Like others said, we should get a big name ps3 exclusive for halo, which is one of the bigges shooters out there so....killzone and resistance?

It should never be on PS3... EVER.

People rarely seem to understand that exclusive titles are the foundation of competition between the two consoles, and it's only from competition that these companies come up with their best work. Humanity always makes the most breakthroughs and achievements when at war, and after all, this is a console war...

If they did that there would be no competition between Microsoft and Sony. There would be no reason to own an Xbox unless you find Gears of War superior to every game available.
Ever heard of Fable? I know Fable 3 will be on PC, but it will be on Microsofts Games on Demand service only.
I'm gonna be kinda blunt with this statement but Fable is a completely underwhelming game made by a dillusional liar (F you Peter!) that doesn't do anything to make it better than other RPGs like Mass Effect and Demons Soul. It baby's first RPG and has no difficulty curve. I made two personal gaming records while playing Fable 2. The first is I played a RPG withoout dying and the second is finishing a game in 4 hours. So excuse me when I say that that game is not worth mentoning.
/rant >: (

*I loved Fable the lost chapters though
The guys at Lionhead have themselves said that when they made Fable 2 they were under a shitload of pressure and had to work their asses off to get the engine it uses and stuff like that working, and couldn't put enough focus on the actual gameplay. Which is why Fable 3 will be far superior to Fable 2, they haven't really done any upgrades to the engine, instead they have worked on the game as a whole. The co-op is greatly improved, the game is supposedly WAY larger and many other things.

Don't give me that crap about Molyneux being a liar, he didn't lie anymore about Fable 2 than any other game developer 'lies' about their upcoming games.
He doesn't lie huh? Well read this article from what Peter said on the game is GDC08 and tell me if any of those things mentioned were implemented well or even appeared in the game. Show me a developer that promised the world and gave you the Detroit slums and maybe I'll believe your claims.

1.The people don't give a shit about what you did to save the world

2."Six hours" into the game and you'll realize that you're still playing a game that you finished 3 hours ago, and no, its not harder to be good than evil.

3.The combat is lackluster and doesn't offer bonus exp etc.. for completing combos...or at least I didn't notice because I was busy destroying all the pathetic enemies with my unlimited magic.

4.The coop part of the game is useless. I didn't play with it online (I played it local coop) and found that it doesn't add to the experience. Or maytbe thats just me.

5.All the characters look overweight and fugly when you fill up your strength abilities.

6.Marrying etcc. doesn't add to the experience as your wife and child don't do anything to change the stroy or your style of play. It just there as a gimmick. Its like Mass Effect having a sausage stand in the citadel. Why? Because they feel like doing it.

I don't like the game at all and no over hyping that Peter brings to the table is going to convinvce me that the third installation will be any better. There is still no Mana bar to limi spamming magic spells so trhe game is still following the basic RPG stragtegy. I like games that challenge me like Demons Soul, Mass Effect etc.. If you like Fable 3 and are going to buy the third one then fine.

Well here's the thing Microsoft owns the rights to the HALO franchise so there is no way in hell that it will be on the PS3.

You're trying to be clever? That's cute.
He asked for my opinion, and I gave it to him. I don't mind either way if Halo is on another platform because they've never interesting me.

No. No. No.

I refuse to get involved with the inherent flaming that is going on in this thread. I do not wish to get dragged into another debate so I'll make this quick:
No, Halo is a Microsoft owned franchise and is as important to the Xbox as Mario is to the Nintendo Wii. I however, see no reason it can't have a PC port but if that was to be the case, it must be done right. After all Halo faces a lot of stiff competition against other online FPS games out there.

As a PS3 owner, my two cents is that I want that mediocrity festival as far away from my console as it can be.

Much as people may wish for Halo to be on PS3 and PC after Bungie's leave, the fact of the matter is that as a wholly owned studio of Microsoft at the time, it is MS who owns the rights, code, license, etc, to Halo, not Bungie.

Had MS deemed it appropriate (meaning, "We needs us some mo' money") they'd have ported Halo 3 and ODST to PC by now. (Though, looking at previous titles, it did take 3 years to port Halo 2, and 2 years for Halo.) And the fact that it is a MS game, it'll never appear as a licensed product on any Sony console. Just as there won't ever be a Twisted Metal or God of War on a Microsoft console, as they are wholly Sony-internal developed games.

It should be, I really think exclusives need to be a thing of the past as soon as possible. Choosing a console should be about hardware like the style and size of the controller, processing power etc not what games you can only get for it.

No, the Halo series is an unfun mess. It needs to be destroyed.
this is why all halo threads turn into flame wars.
The story is boring with no interesting characters. The multiplayers community is just a pain to listen to and the only redeeming feature to the game is forge.
you just described the entire FPS genera. except for forge mode. it's fun to make maps that no one plays correctly
KillZone has an amazing story. The Helghast have an extremely rich history. Half life has a great story and characters despite being very old and Timesplitters is just simply and unrelentlessly fun. 3 amazing series of FPS games.

I don't think Microsoft could ever lead such a cash cow to a different pasture. (Wow, that's a pretty good metaphor...)
