FINISH HIGH SCHOOL. Think of it as improving your discipline for the military. Basic algebra also is important to learn. Math beyond that may not be essential, but I firmly believe everyone should at least understand basic algebra. Many careers depend on it.

math is easy and fun, I don't see why everyone hates it.
Basic facts: Easy.
Complicated calculus equations and balancing chemical equations: Not easy
Advanced algebra: Tedious to the point of wanting to fellate the barrel of a gun.

There's little to no point at all in taking maths unless your future career requires it.
I'm in the math department in university, my final year. Just cause YOU don't find it easy and fun, doesn't mean I don't.
OK fair enough, but what I was pointing out is that the guy who made the post DOESN'T enjoy maths obviously, therefore it shouldn't really be too much of a problem for him if he drops maths.
Whoa, why was this necro'd after 3 months?

Hahaha coz I never check my messages... I like forums when the discussion topic is good but I rarely check up on them. Hadn't been on the site for ages.

You need to finish high school or have a GED to be eligible for the reserves.

You need a high school degree for pretty much any job nowadays, and it's a hell of a lot easier to get it in actual high school instead of slogging through a GED. Believe it or not your life is not over the moment you turn 18 and you'll have plenty of time to chase your dreams once you have the minimum requirement for getting a job in retail if you have to.

Trust me on this, I'm one of about five female cousins of about 20-25 (big southern family) who did NOT get knocked up in high school. And three of those then got knocked up in college and quit that. Really, I'd suggest doing ROTC instead of going straight in. Also join the Air Force.

look, most of us think(including me, until recently) think that school is about what they teach you there. It is, but it's more. If you finish school, you have not only learned the basics, but you've also proved you're capable of learning, and, more importantly, that you're able to persevere. People don't like 'quitters'. that's all there is to it.

You can do whatever you want after high school. If you drop out you can't really do it again. You could pay to I guess but its harder to get into. I dropped out and its not made anything easier. It will make your life a lot simpler and open more doors if you keep at it :)
