I think if you are going to have a Wii you do require some other console as well. At the moment I have a Wii and an Xbox. I've kept my Wii because the rest of the family enjoy playing it and there are some games coming out this year that I would like to get.

I keep my Wii mainly because I use it as a Gamecube... and I will play some Wii games.. I love Rayman Raving Rabbids... and I'm looking forward to The Conduit....

But I'd say the Playstation 3 because it has some good games... and although the Xbox360 has more exclusives... the majority of the games you can get on the Xbox.. you can get on your PC.

I have a great PC, so the Xbox is useless to me.

Playstation 3 - Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, God of War III... among others, it still has some decent exclusives. And more dependable than the Xbox360... plus free online play.

I'm not sure if you sold the system yet, but have you tried more than just the one game? What about Ghost Squad, Madworld, Re4, or No More Heroes? What about getting The Conduit? Just because one game does not have the best handle on controls in the universe doesn't mean they all do. To think otherwise is bias.

You should also try Metroid Prime 3, as well as get a gamecube controller and memory card to play the first two.

If you have all of these games, you can also collect more gamecube games and try out the virtual console.

You have options. Don't jump ship in fear of the plague because you see a single rat.

Edit - however, if all you play is the same generic first person shooter about the gruff marine that guns down foreigners, and you already sold your Wii, then the 360 is your better choice over ps3.

True.

Play Madworld first. It would be a waste to sell the console without playing that.

Then do whatever. I don't care.

I have a rule with CD's, Vinyl and Computer games. NEVER sell them. Everyone I know who has done so regrets it.

Admittedly I buy trade ins and use Amazon Marketplace all the time, but that's other people selling. Personally I don't.

well, outside Littlebig planet, Our PS3 is a very expensive doorstop. We are on our 2nd X-Box 360 (Damn the red circle of death!) and we play Wii Fit everyday. Wii is for exerising while gaming (Twilight Priness was quite invigorating!) and Xobx is our hard core platform.

PS3 killed itself by NOT removing PS2.

If your willing to lose a foot at the cost of a PS3 go ahead. But really it comes right down to what you play. if you play a lot of gamecube games, get a gamecube for about 50 bucks and sell the Wii. If you like games like Zelda, Metroid, and Mario keep it. It really comes down to what you want. The Wii if for Nintendo fans, The third party content is pretty mediocre on it. If you want games that are not Nintendo staples, then sell it and get a 360. there cheap, and have all the games a PS3 has almost. I have a Wii for my Nintendo games like Zelda, Metroid, and Mario. and a 360 for my other games like Gears of War and Bioshock and anything else that looks appealing. Get both if you can. That way you can play pretty much every good game out there. The PS3 only has about 3 decent games so far. Resistance, God of War and Metal Gear Solid

Take a look at the games. I mean really look, don't browse EB and notice the shovelware, do some homework on the Wii's library. There are plenty of excellent games out there if you bother to look.
If, after looking at the games, you still want to sell it, go ahead.
Pretty much this, there's really no better advice to give.
The Wii has some top quality games that don't get the shelf-space they deserve, so have a look around online retailers and review sites to find some that tickle your fancy.

Gah. Fanboy wars.

Fun.

Buy a 360 if you don't mind getting it repaired every now and again, it's better than the PS3 but it's got a few problems. Plus, it's not free online which is a bummer. Most people don't mind paying though.

Buy a PS3 if you want free online, and a dependable console. Though, it's exclusive titles and exclusive DLC's will always differ to the 360's, it's just much more reliable.

I've been suffering from the same quandary for a while now, considering investing the money or buying a 360 - though I'm a little confused; you'd think they'd have fixed the 360's problems by now on the new units.

Anyway, I'd say get House of the Dead: Overkill and/or Madworld to tide you over and see where the Wii library heads in another 6-12 months. If it turns out to be a flood of casual games without a hardcore game in sight, you're lost. Sell it to a 12-year-old or a mom and exchange the non-casual games at your local game retailer.

If you're just looking for as many hardcore games as you can find, yes, hock the Wii and buy a 360. However, note that many of the few hardcore games that were released for the Wii have been at least decent, if not better. Twilight Princess, HotD: Overkill, Madworld, No More Heroes, those are all pretty good games, while there's a deluge of games that are all right, just not great, on the other systems with a few gritty gems hidden in the grit, there are just some more gems there than on the Wii. With the Wii, at least you tend to know where the good games are (with the possible exception of Redsteel <.< ).

Wii Processer = Gamecube processer, ditch the gamecube dressing up as a white PS2 and get a PS3 because of the free online and lack of red rings.
Bit of a fanboy rant there... The RRoD issue (admittedly after 4 bricked units) for me has passed, and now I have a cheap, reliable next gen console.

Keep your Wii. Never ever sell your consoles.

And then buy MadWorld and wait for The Conduit.

Why the hell did you get a Wii if you want something to play an FPS on?

The Wii is a fantastic machine with a great number of good games - not one of those is an FPS.

Or maybe you are just too butch for a Wii?
I've noticed that a lot of people who post on message boards are far too manly for the Wii...

Last time I checked, the Wii was second only to the PC when it comes to good FPS controls.

But, of course, if the control schemes are set by rabid retards on a tight schedule you can't expect the end results to be very good.

I'd put it first actually, by virtue of having analogue movement to accompany the precision aiming.

But good controls don't make a good game on their own.
The upcoming Conduit, for example, looks to have an amazing variety of control customisations available but it doesn't take away from the fact the game looks like generic shooter number 867,475,38.

just ask yourself, do you play it? If you use it a lot then keep it. If you dont play it then its not the console for you.
