Dragon Age 3 still might be good - it hasn't even been announced yet, aren't we jum-

ahahahaha no. The Dragon Age team is, what, Bioware's C-team now? And considering what amazingly glorious products the A- and B-teams created...

Me: You're DA3...
DA3: Yes.
Me: You're a sequel to DA2.
DA3: Yes.
Me: I played DA2.
DA3: So?
Me: Well are you worse than it was?
DA3: Well I haven't been released yet, but... yes.

Didn't much like DA:O, never will play DA2, don't care about any future releases. It's just not my type of game, it seems.

just finished sinking 70 hours into another playthrough of Dragon Age 2, and can safely say i enjoyed it more than ever :) with origins i was utterly comatose by the time i reached orzammar, the "watching paint dry" mechanic, sorry, i mean the combat, was vastly improved in DA2 - at least as soon as the latter patches arrived to remove all the major exploits. the characters are better in 2, the story is far more personal, and hawke himself is just a mighty-bearded man-god. all i miss from origins is the location hopping, and after all the backlash about repeating areas it's all but guaranteed to come back for DA3.

so yeah, i sort of care, but 1 great game out of 2 doesnt exactly make it my favourite series.

I come back and replay DA:0 now and then. The creative modders being me back. Mods like them optional campaigns you select at the main menu and locations and quest lines which add to the main game too.

Hell there is even a mod to make that ser gilmore bloke a fully controlable party member, voiced and everything and reacts to your actions and speaks with the other party members as well.

Never played 2 though so i can't comment about it. But what i have heard about 2 if there going to make 3 like that then i will most likely give 3 a skip like i did with 2 and just keep enjoying the 1st one.

I still care. I actually loved DA2, I know it had it's problems, but I loved it. I can't wait for the third.

Dragon Age pissed me off. I got to the end level and for some stupid reason chose a shitty team to take with me. Well guess what? With that team, it is now impossible to complete the game and I can't go back and change it.

A game like DA NEEDS a failsafe feature to keep exactly that from happening. 70-some hours wasted because of one stupid decision. Fucking ridiculous.

Here's my pipeline dream that's barely related to this. Bioware should combine DA and ME. Give us all of the standard fantasy elements of dwarves, elves, dragons, and magic. Then set that shit in the future. IN SPACE. Suddenly you have dragon-slaying snipers and wizards shooting down spaceships. Fuck yeah.
... like Star Wars?

OT: Yeah, I care. I really enjoyed DA2 despite it's flaws, and will likely pre-order the limited super-duper edition of DA3 almost as soon as it's announced. I'm a fan, I enjoyed the story, and didn't mind the voice acting.
I don't see any elves or dragons in Star Wars. And The Force barely qualifies as magic now that we know it's caused by aliens.
Not to you, but to the comparison of Star Wars.

Now onto you. There already exists a series like that, and it's called Warhammer 40k. And this is what it looks like:

[HEADING=1]FOR THE EMPEROR![/HEADING]
No. Actually that's not what I was thinking at all. You don't want to know my opinion of Warhammer 40K.
Was meaning more to, "This is what a fantasy system looks like... IN SPACE!", since they do have magic and spaceships and everything and since wielding a massive axe or hammer into combat is still a viable strategy.

Unless it has astounding gameplay I don't think I'll bother with a sequel. The dragon age universe is so banal in its execution and presentation, I can't be bothered to consider it story-wise.

All kinds of second this. I will forever keep waiting for the day a game like this is made. Space dragons versus Space Ships!

I can never seem to get through DA1, it has to many things that annoy me. Never played DA:O, and I'll probably pick up DA2 one of these days, most likely just so I can use it as a reference of "Things that piss off players."

I will pick DA3 up. I loved DA2, I mean, the being stuck in Kirkwall pretty much the whole game was shit, and the "ending" was marginally better then ME3's, but outside of that I enjoyed it. Plus it'll be in Orlais, so funny french(Belgian!) accents for all!

I loved Dragon Age: Origins and I'm currently playing through DA2. I very much care about the series and I hope for a third.

Don't get me wrong Dragon Age 2 has it's problems, it's rushed, it's buggy, but I still think it's pretty cool. Truth be told though, I really don't think it could be called Dragon Age 2...it's more like Dragon Age: The Hawke Adventures. Not a sequal, just a really big side quest.
No, It is more like God of War Effect: Dragon age edition. God why did they have to bring in waves? Anyone who says,"We are broadening our audience" deserves to be shot. I do agree with you that it is decent though.

Yes, because adding in waves improves everything /very sarcastic
Yes the gameplay was changed too actiony instead of the tactical combat which might have worked if it wasn't for the fucking waves. I hate waves unless it is horde mode.
Really they should have left dragon age as it was and made da2 a new IP

Keep Isabella, Merril, The narrator dwarf and hawk. Outside of that I'd like them to go back to the drawing board and make dragon age 3 more like origins.

I'm looking forward to DA3 and pray to the Maker that Bioware doesn't screw it up.

I've been itching to get my hands on my original copy of DA:O, and after DA2 and the ending to-REMOVED TO SUPRESS FLAME- I've lost interest in the future of the series.

That doesn't mean that I don't hope that it might turn a complete 180 and go back but then again, I could also win the jackpot tomorrow and have a meteor made of pure diamond fall in my backyard.

Yes.

DA2 had it's problems but I still enjoyed the game. I hope to see this issues corrected in any future games.

Dragon Age was good, really good. It's a bit like Game of Thrones, with plenty of political intrigue and what have you. But it wasn't without it's flaws.

Then they did Dragon Age 2, and instead of ironing out the flaws, and building on what made the game good, they opted to iron out the good, and build the game entirely around the flaws.
They took everything in the entirely wrong direction, trying to focus on telling a hollywood action story with stupid love interests and shit no one cares about.
Dragon Age had interpersonal relationships but they weren't so horribly divided. They felt natural, and not pointless, and every character had a purpose.
In DA2 it felt like none of your followers were even aware of the existance of the others. They didn't play off of eachother very well at all and it all just sucked.

I would still love to see a new, better Dragon Age. I don't even care if it's straight up RPG or more interactive combat, like Skyrim, or Zelda. But they need to get back to writing better plots, and designing better worlds.
But I'm not holding out for a miracle. As far as I'm concerned, until I see any reason to believe otherwise, the Dragon Age franchise is dead to me.

DA2 was an experiment. It may have been a (mostly) failed one, but it seems like they're learning from it, which is the entire point of an experiment in the firs place. I thought the real time combat was an improvement over DA:O, but it still needs a lot of work.

Now I just need EA to not to fuck it over with too much publishery.

Yes. Bioware has had two successive black marks on their record, they're going to try to stop the streak before it goes any further. However, if Bioware somehow manages to screw this one up, I'm probably not going to call myself a current fan of them anymore. I'll be one of those people reminiscing about the "good old days" when Bioware didn't make crap.

DA2 wasn't nearly as good as the original, but it wasn't deserving of the hissy fit reaction it got from the fanboys. The primary reason why it failed in so many areas was because of the sheer lack of development time. With a few more years, DA2 probably would have been able to stand on its own.

They've said that DA3 will be a combination of the first two, which I'm fine with. For example, I would really love it if they took the more tactical combat of DA:O and mixed it with the high-intensity and stylish combat of DA2.
