People who don't like multiplayer either only play RPG's or they have no friends. There are dozens and dozens of fun multiplayer games for all consoles and the PC. If you can't find one you enjoy, then you just don't like to have fun!

Of course I love multiplayer, otherwise TF2 would be a very boring game to me. I only dislike multiplayer when it is obviously the only focus of the developer. I don't have a lot of friends to game with anymore, so I need a good singleplayer campaign. "The multiplayer is awesome though" doesn't win me over.

For most games yes I do love multiplayer but I really only find enjoyment in it when I'm playing with some of my mates, allows us to laugh and giggle whenever we kill someone half way across the map with a random bullet. Also pretty fun when you face off against your mates.

I really love multiplayer where you work together as a team. Borderlands, Left 4 dead, Tomb Raider and the Guardian of Light... those are all super aweosme in my books.

Multiplayer? Hell yeah, i enjoy it as much as the single palyer and i usually play it alot more of it than sp of the game if it is good.

As for those 9 year olds screaming, it is honey for my ear to hear them cry after i destroy them and their little dreams in any FPS :).

I voted "kind of"... I'm all for split screens or LAN, but online multiplayer with people I don't know in real life can suck it... and it's not even about listening to mouth-breathers with microphones for me. Multiplayer is about teamwork, which doesn't exist online outside of "guilds" and such, which I refuse to be a part of.

Yeah, multiplayer is great. For me, it is multiplayer that makes a game, of course it depends what game, but generally I get lots more time online than on the single player.

I only play multiplayer in one game, Team Fortress 2. The humor, the personalities of the classes, the collectables, the "fun" severs, there's no other game I'm willing to play online other than that. And because so many game focus on multiplayer and has the campaign as an afterthought, I don't play many new games. Though I'm willing to give Bulletstom's singleplayer a chance.

I would play more Left 4 Dead, when my computer stops crashing when I try to...

Actually, it's quite hilarious.

Also, I was referring to playing with friends too, not just random people.
Since Co-op doesn't count as multiplayer and competitive multiplayer also can ruin your friendship (the insulting bit).
So yeah! Co-op FTW

I do indeed like multiplayer. My favourite my game, Team Fortress 2, doesn't even have a singleplayer mode, and I've sunk 500+ hours into it. Far more than I've put into any singleplayer game.

Still... I think I'd take a good singleplayer over a good multiplayer. A lot of the people who play multiplayer games tend to be quite... tiring.

I love mp. It's the most intriguing part of games. Going head to head with people just like you. This is only true in theory. There are so many idiots out there playing these games that it makes enjoying mp almost IMPOSSIBLE. Then again I've been in a bleh phase over video games in general recently.

I used to be a die-hard mp or nothing gamer. I still played single players games to get through the story/challenge but for the most part if something didn't have MP, it didn't last. Nowadays I enjoy co-op a lot more. Working with friends even in semicrappy games is really fun. You know who you're dealing with and you can joke in vent/skype/ts while doing it. No need to rely on useless trolls/tards/etc.

Yup, so long as people arn't dicks. Spawn trapping and generally making it so people can't fight back effectively makes you a dick.

Depends on the game really but as a general rule I do like multiplayer as long as it is well balanced and newbies to it aren?t at a massive disadvantage. Games especially in the FPS genre are becoming increasing guilty of this particular sin. Can they not just do it the CoD 4 way you get decent enough and even top tier guns at the start?

As many of you know, Multiplayer is sort of a mixed thing when it comes to the Escapist Community. Most hate it with a fiery passion, others like it. So who are those who do like it?

I for one love it. I still love SP, but when I got a good MP game, I really put time into it. :)

I also found the argument for FPS multiplayer games: "I don't want to play an FPS online becuase of the stupid kids with mics" really bad, becuase you don't ever need to listen to them. Anyone claiming it, is lying. In about 99% of Multiplayer games have mute buttons, and if you can't mute them. Their always an option to turn down the volume of voices.
Honestly, the mute option takes me out of the game for too long in most games. I'm playing to play, not to screw around with mute and volume settings in a pause/menu screen.

I've started simply playing MP without a mic unless I'm playing specifically with friends.

The fact that you don't need to is rather pointless, though.

MP is okay, but too often it's replacing anything of worth for the game, and a lot of the MP modes are interchangable. It's nice, but not particularly a selling point most of the time.

I really don't experience that much multiplayer because the chance of connecting to a server is one in a billion. And WHEN I finally connect, I dont find a lot of people to play with. And that's why I'm still in level 1 in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
