Poll: Stephen King.

I had to go with The Stand. I loved the Dark tower series as well, but most of his other work, well..... it just seems that he tried harder in The Stand and the DT.

Gotta give it to The Shining.. It was the fact that the story was brilliant, and while the murder didn't scare me, it was the fear that Stephen King was going to kill off the characters I'd liked.

Yeah he did. The last scene was awesome, as was every scene involving explosions.

I just started reading It, I'm really liking it, but I'm not far enough to say if it's my favorite. I guess I'd say the Shining, that was a really cool story. And I've stayed in that hotel.

The last actiony scene was great, but the cliffhanger end...
Just weak.

Is it just me or do most of his books end like that,

The black cloud escaping the burning hotel at the end of The Shining, The Stand ends with Randall Flag appearing on a deserted island.

Being those are the only other two books of his I've read it seems he does it quite a bit.

He doesn't do that on purpose. He just sucks at writing ends. Alot.
