Umm, sorry but...why did you quote me again? I didn't say anything weird.
Whoops, looks like that got left in by mistake.
I was going to make a fallout reference, but it was 2:00 at night and I wasn't exactly on the ball. Sorry for the confusion.

To quote Nietzsche: "To those human beings who are of any concern to me I wish suffering, desolation, sickness, ill-treatment, indignities - I wish that they should not remain unfamiliar with profound self-contempt, the torture of self-mistrust, the wretchedness of the vanquished: I have no pity for them, because I wish them the only thing that can prove today whether one is worth anything or not - that one endures."

To live is to suffer, and to suffer is to live. Peace out.

Comparative enlightenment, at least. Bills like this have always existed, and most likely will keep coming. Gaming and the internet is a relatively new medium, a few bumps in the road need to be ironed out before we get there.

But we will get there. Sooner or later.
I do not wish to spend my life keeping an eye out for the same bill over and over again just because politicians have nothing better to do than to serve their corporate masters... they could try representing their electorate by understanding fully the bills being proposed and doing what their electorate voted for them to do which is maybe... THEIR JOB?!!

we don't vote them in to ignore us or else there is just no point in politics, their titles and money should just stop... maybe THEN they will think twice before fucking us over

Happy? No. I have what I need, but there is little to nothing that stimulates the neurotransmitters necessary for me to feel happy.

However, I am content, and I've decided that's enough.

I'm not miserable, I'm neutral. But I'm also incapable of being cheery in general. Sorry, but the whole 'WOW OMG YES LIFE IT'S SO MAGICAL AND DELICIOUS HHRUUUGNNNGHH ENJOY THE SUNSHINEY DAY' just...eew. And the people who are like that tend to not get along well with me.

And I will never have faith in mankind. It has been my belief for a while that we are quite definitively fucked, to put it in layman's terms.

Damn damn damn damn damn, now all the simple pleasures are getting washed away in the big picture. That's what I get for starting down the path of "It's all pointless."

You had to act once against a bad law for video games, and you're already "spending your life keeping an eye out"?

You're exaggerating big time. Nor does anything you said help against the idea that this, with all of its hardships, is probably the easiest era so far.
You're a dull boy...

first off, SOPA and PIPA wouldn't have only affected games, it concerned movies, music and television as well

Secondly, there wasn't just one bad law, it's been repeated and retitled from SOPA to PCIP which is the SAME bill but with a different title, but we still have time to wait for that - right now the worry is ACTA which is the same as SOPA but with even more privacy invading and general media censorship and it would have been passed without question or even us knowing about it if it weren't for wikileaks, this isn't exaggerated...

you can go back to your Skyrim now, you don't have to thank the rest of us for protecting YOUR privacy

I'm happy, it's all the miserable buggers I see while I'm walking to work that are the problem

If there's nothing to be positive about, then there's nothing to be negative about, and it works the other way as well. It's a balance that has to be tended to. Some people take things way more seriously then others, some like their tinfoil hats, some don't.

That's just how things are, go enjoy your own time.

Thaaaank you! I don't think Brave New World is any good either! OT: I would have sex, but I'm to damn unusual to get laid...well I could try the local call girls. And I chose coke because some Coke-a-Cola would be pretty refreshing right now.

Like so many people on here, you have made me more happier than I was earlier!

And to all you guys who post replies like, "Yeah, well, I am pretty happy. I'm just a realist. I know I'm a bunch of atoms, and the world is controlled by dicks, but I'm not sad, or whatever..." You guys need to read what you just wrote. Happy people aren't happy because they see reality, but because they see abstract things like love and joy in people, including themselves!

Clever people are less happy, I think I read that somewhere. So well done for being so clever, shame on you for bringing everybody down just to show it. And if you start another sentence with the words "By 2020 China will...." I will take you down.

I like philosophy, and I reserve the right to complain because nothing gets solve when you just go "SHUT UP, IT'S ALRIGHT".

But I am at least slightly happy that this thread is not of the tone that anyone who complains is miserable, and sounds more along the lines of "LOOK KITTIES!".

It's hard not to feel wistful today - today being the birthday of two of the most influential and talented hip-hop producers of all time; J Dilla, and Nujabes, who both died too young.

It doesn't help that after a year of struggling through life with it, my Grandmother finally decided to stop receiving medication for her Leukemia yesterday.

But apart from that I try to keep a cheery outlook on life. I'm generally quite appreciative of the society I live in.

It's time to stop caving to peer pressure and stop caring what other people think.

I'll start with you

I love talking about fun things! I also love turning my dorm room into a giant blanket fort at any time my roommate leaves for more than a 24 hour period. You studied all night for the exam? That's cool. I studied all night for the exam in a GIANT BLANKET FORT.

I think you have a pretty good point, OP. If all people have to complain about is existentialism, "I'm a bucket of nerves," etc, then those people are obviously very well-off.

Not everyone has friends to socialize with, girls to have sex with, places to go or anything meaningful to look forward to. Touting happiness in the same way as Depression etc is presented here won't help anything.

For some it isn't so easy to enjoy life/put problems aside/improve etc.
