I say do it. Not doing it is just a cop out for the artists, I think. I enjoy seeing the things creative people create, so show us some Quarian faces already.

Ehhh....I can't decide. I've seen alot of nice fan art and I'm pretty sure NOTHING they do will please fan expectations. And I agree that they shouldn't bend over to please everyone. On the other hand: I'm very Curious as Tali is one my Favorite characters. In fact I'm torn over which game in ME3 I'll play through first: My Badass Inflitatior who romanced Liara, Or the shining paragon Solider who romanced Tali. Someone on Facebook suggested showing other Quarien faces to give us a rough idea. Kind of a halfway mark between both ends.

In the end if it helps the game get out faster, screw it.

Now, why are you defending Bioware so eagerly. I'm sure they make enough money to ignore an almost fan like me (They've yet to release something at Jade Empire standard again /sadface), and not care for your support. So far they've not cared too much about their fans, and I think that's a trend they'll go with for some time.
They make enough money by pleasing "almost fans" like you. There money doesn't come from nowhere, it comes from fans, who buy their games. No game developer wants to alienate those fans, even the biggest developers on the market. Blizzard lost a measly 5% of their customers due to bad decisions in developing Cataclysm, and have been completely revamping their entire design structure trying to get those numbers back.

When Mass Effect was made, there was no design for the Quarian face, and, as you admit, no reason to have one. But by the time Mass Effect 2 came out, it was way too late to start planning one. Players and fans have hundreds of different expectations, and no matter what route you go, you are going to upset and alienate tons of fans. BioWare is still trying to figure out a way to reveal Tali that will not be a letdown to the majority of the fans, they just still have no clue how to do it.

As to why I am defending them, it is because you aren't offering a valid criticism. It is obviously not laziness. If anything, it is more caused by a lack of self confidence, they are unsure of their own ability to meet the fan expectations. There are tons of valid criticisms you could offer about BioWare, but that is not one of them.

Your opinion on the quality difference between the first and second Mass Effect games are noted, but are completely irrelevant in this thread.
Moving along back to the actual point you were trying to make a while back would be appreciated.

Yes, they should.

I would laugh my ass off if it turns out she looks like Zoidberg in that suit.

There's also some pretty scary shit too...

I think those look a bit too human for my taste. I'm hoping for a pretty alien but not to much like they made the Asari look like blue humans with weird scalp implants.
Exotic is the word im looking for.
Yeah, they are rather human but look at some of these to compare them to...

Other peoples' concept art...

edit: there was another interesting one but it was a nude model so...

I've already made my point. That you failed to see it makes any further discussion futile.

On one hand no, on the other hand every once in a while I get scared that she looks like this:

Oh I saw your point, but it did not sway my opinion, thus you should try again since your point has already been refuted by many others.

Easiest thing is to keep it as an option. Then again, some douche on the intrawebz will post a picture of her actual face.

But mystery is good. Remember V for Vendetta? At the end of the comic?

Exactly.

Not necessarily 'refuted', but more... brushed aside. But thanks for wanting to keep this going, I appreciate the post-count.
If you're not swayed by my opinion that doesn't mean I should try from a different angle, by doing so my argument will eventually become something that doesn't reflect my point at all. Isn't it better if we just, you know, stop?

Please no. I don't want to have her take off her mask, as all of her allure was the fact you never find out what she looks like. Having her remove her mask would completly destroy my idea of her.

Should Microsoft show what Master Chief looks like? If anyone says no then you can't really explain why Tali's face should be shown.
i don't understand what you meant, but i'd prefer if neither are shown.

Hell no,
and the only compromise possible would be if she's astoundingly, stomach wrenchingly ugly, like a bastard child of a snot otter and an angler fish, or has a face like a Predator that even OTHER Predators think is an ugly *****,
if they reveal her as "yet another sexy sexy sexalien for you to bone" then they are below contemptible.
mind you in general since the massive "heyyyyyy thanks long time fans for all the support over the last 20 odd years but fuck youuuuuuuuu" that dragon age 2 was I'm not really holding out any hope for ME 3.

Do not want. At all.

The chances a random alien race is attractive by human standards? Almost zero.
My Shep seemed to like what she looked like under that mask...
Hmm, fair enough. Though, I suspect he is more open to extraterrestrial attraction than most actual humans :p

Yes, but it should be a part of her romance plot, so that the people who don't want to see her don't have to.
Yeah, that sounds alright.
And then an optional "turn the lights off" during the pre-finalé bonk so you don't see sh*t if you still want to romance her but not see anything?

They should just make it optional, so curious people like me can see Tali (never getting to see what a Quarian looks like would really suck in my opinion, especially Tali), and the mystique-lovers can stick with the mystique.

Problem solved.

EDIT: Besides, in ME1 you can faintly see through Tali's helmet anyway, so there can't be THAT much speculation for what she looks like to defend.
