Okay, some good opinions voiced, mostly negative of Twilight, but still, more constructive I think.
Perhaps devising some sort of uber-critique of the series, THEN ignoring it entirely and referring fans to it if they want to feel stupid?

Read a few pages and you will realise why people say children are not as intelligient as they once were.
Interesting, because I figure the Harry Potter crowd is where Twilight fans are born and bred; only I read the Harry Potters and while they weren't literary gold, they were well written compared to Twilight.

the Twilight series is having a negative effect on young women.
Hmm, I'm sensing some truth in this and it seems to be a general consesus of anti-Twilighters who aren't just mad because vampires suck now.
And I do think female empowerment should be central to a book aimed at teenage girls, so they certainly should have a role model.
Personally I nominate Ripley from the Alien series, but I don't think that'd go over to those group of people

.

I think people enjoy hating on twilight (myself included) because there a ton of people who like it, but when you ask them why, they never come up with a real reason.
This too seems important, I like to think I can justify why I like the things I do, so it is only fair to assume the same of people who are batshit insane about Twilight...
I think something akin to this Phantom Menace review would do the trick, though only a brave soul indeed would dedicate themselves to such a task.
