So basically you admit to pirating games (or at least wanting to do so in the past) and you call yourself a "bell-end" and suggest you would rather act childishly and immorally than be an adult.

I can see I am arguing with a person of sound logic here.
Are you trying to back me into a corner? I've already been warned for D3, and I've already stated why I wanted to be an asshole in this particular instance. Moreover, I own every game I've completed, save (obviously) ME3.

Taking a high ground doesn't work when your opponent doesn't care about this particular instance, and when his library otherwise shows a commitment to personally supporting the developers whose games he plays.
Your posts are entirely irrelevant at this point, sadly, for anyone who openly embraces acting childishly and greedily stealing things they want but do not wish to pay for, are not the kind of individual I eagerly await to impart upon me anything useful.

I'm honestly surprised that it took you this long to realize the insignificance of arguing with someone on an internet forum.

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

That's the funny thing. If you don't try, they win without any effort.

yeah...but then some people simply don't care enough...regardless of howmuch difference they think it will make

I have ME3, but i did not buy the From Ashes DLC because the Protheans are DEAD and nothing can change that. Also i heard that the character is a dick, I probably wouldn't use him or his weapon, its 800 bioware points (The same as "Lair of the Shadow Broker", which is probably so much better), I heard it bugged, and it should have been "Buy it new" DLC not "Collectors edition" DLC
yeah...the GOOD kind of dick...you shoudl judge him without giving it a look, and yes the protheiand are dead...its just one pod..one guy

Bought it, played through it once, the ending killed it for me. Haven't touched it since, instead moved onto other games, what an utter disappointment to me, was so excited for the game, got it at the midnight release, played through an amazing campaign to the last 10 minutes. Needless to say, that last 10 minutes destroyed my love of the series, it is only my opinion but Mass Effect died with Shepard eating a Harbinger beam, may it rest in peace.

Or the Dante's Inferno incident, or Dead Space 2 and its marketing, or Pandemic studios, or -
ending or not unfortuatly all I seem to want to do is play ME3...its annoying because Ive got all thease those games sitting there...

I cant see how the ending undoes the rest of the series....granted it might feel liek our "effort" has gone to waste...but still might as well wait to see what kind of bone Bioware throws us

I bought the Collector's edition without knowing anything about any extra DLC, so I can't really say if I would have bought "From Ashes" or not. I would probably have done it eventually but maybe not out of the gate.

What concerns me is that the only good new character in Mass Effect 3 is locked behind shady business practises. That not all people can experience the awesomeness of Javik is a truly disgusting move of Bioware and Ea, especially when it says in "Final hours of ME3" that Javik was meant to be part of the core game until they had to cut him because of "time-issues".

Mass Effect 3 is great and all but it reeks of cut corners and a product that shouldn't have been released until Autumn 2012 at least.

I probably would have bought it, but I'm not interested in downloading Origin. It's not a boycott or anything, it's just that EA products have too many strings attached these days.

I bought it used for $10 on 360. I will continue buying used EA games because I can't stand the way they treat customers. And I'm a guy who bought Dragon Age: Origins twice because I loved it so much. Once for the collector's edition on day 1, and once for the ultimate edition so I would have access to all the content a long time from now when I get old and want to enjoy it again.

I bought the game with DLC (collector's ed.), put many, many hours into it and loved 99% of it. And the 1% I found meh did not ruin the rest of the experience. All in all, I think it is a brilliant game and a good cap on the series. I think the stink a lot of gamers kicked up over the game, its ending, the DLC etc. was a bit petty and bitter tbh.

I haven't bought an EA game in years. Their stupid, greedy shit goes way back than BioWare.

I did not purchase ME3 because I refuse to support EA and their methods of ruining developers.

All you have to do is look at the change in quality between Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 to see how much damage executive meddling can do.
So when Bioware goes out of business and we have one less studio out there making big budget non-generic FPS titles, you're going to say, take that EA? That's going to be a victory? I think EA will move on, the talented folks at Bioware will get screwed, and us consumers who want something other than generic FPS titles will also get screwed. I don't see how this is a good thing at all.
My dear, any developer that is picked up by EA is pretty much guaranteed to be screwed in the long run. Just look at EA's track record of screwing talented developers. The instant a developer stops making record breaking profits they are dropped. Some of Bioware's veteran developers have left before and after the acquisition because they knew what would happen.

Anyway, the real victory would be for EA to leave Bioware to their own devices just like now ZeniMax leaves Bethesda to their own devices. That way Bioware will be able to give their games the right amount of polishing and love their games deserve.

They need to invent a pamphlet for companies like EA... "Dealing With Obsolescence" or something along those lines.

I didn't buy it because of origin. I'm not really boycotting it though. It's not that I have some kind of principle against origin or EA (even if I don't like them); origin just seems intrusive, annoying, and not worth putting up with, no not even for ME3. It's the only game on origin I'd even consider getting anyway.

I like how people that up when it is 1 picture of 1 page in the group of a group that didn't even make up 1% of the boycott signatures.

OT: I haven't gotten ME 3 for various reasons but when I do get it I will not get the DLC to show which bits I was happy with and wasn't.

And oddly, those people you didn't bring up before were not the people I was addressing. Quelle surprise.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - 13 million sales.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 25 million sales.

Oh yeah, they definitely boycotted the hell out of that.

Yeah, how dare people bring up that one pic which counts as evidence and demonstrates a point! It's totally unfair in light of the fact that it's inconvenient to my point!

Yes and 20% of Escapist users have Asperger Syndrome so yes a tiny sample size is highly biased. It shows ~19/833 users playing Modern Warfare 2. Yeah those are some solid numbers

Yeah and most of the sales were on consoles. 0.73m for MW2 on PC compared to 1.06m which funnily enough is more or less exactly how many people signed the petition with got 1/4 of a million so yea I would say that was successful.

Meh it was never going to be a day one purchase for me, nothing in the pre-release hype made me think it was going to be worth forty quid, so I thought I'd pick it up later cheaper. Then I heard about the ending and the day one DLC and well all of a sudden their are other games I wanted to check out more. I wouldn't say I boycotted it I just lost interest before they got my money.

I have ME1 and ME2 on steam, but when they said that ME3 is only on origin, I said I would not buy it. I still haven't, and probably never will.

I had the collectors edition pre-ordered ever since it was announced half a year before the release.
Game went bust and i lost my pre-order but i managed to grab one from amazon before they all were taken.

Did/does the day 1 dlc annoy me? yeah.
Am i annoyed with myself for funding EAs bad business practises? yes but i don't really think Javik was so great anyway, i wouldn't have noticed much if he was gone.

Also Origin didn't really bother me, i already had it installed for the BF3 Beta way back.
