It will probably be a world war.

?I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.?
Damn it all, beat me to it! Still, gotta love Einstein. I believe it was he who said that?
Yep, Einstein himself. ;)

Cool, but unlikely. I don't even think you can have a world war unless you're at least industrialized.
I think your looking at it the wrong way Samirat lol.

With the dollar cost of the Iraq war showing just how expensive it is to wage large-scale warfare, I think proxy wars will be the wave of the future. Equip the Darfur rebels to harass the Chinese-supported Sudanese government and oil establishment. Send a never-ending stream of militants into Iraq to keep the US involved indefinitely. Support/intimidate Georgia/Taiwan/Israel. A little push in any one of these places can cause problems that the large nations of the world can't afford to ignore.

However, when the next big war occurs, it's going to be in Central or East Asia. Too many people, too much growth, too many religions, too many cultures. I'm in this contest, I'm dating a virgin, something's gotta give!
Well I wouldn't call Iraq large scale warfare anymore... the cost is more related to the massively expensive equipment the US forces use, as well as the relatively high pay our soldiers get. I mean a missle that costs over 1 million dollars, since when has destruction ever needed to cost so much? as well as all the revamping the US military is doing, changing its vehicle fleet, R&D up the ass... that is why modern war is expensive. But in terms of the next war it is hard to say, considering the commonality of bushfire wars that constantly spring up around the world, especially in Africa. But in terms of a Fairly large war, my bet would be Iran versus Isreal, & the US considering our ties to Isreal. That is assuming McCain wins the election. But even if Obama wins and Iran and Isreal start fighting then the US will still likely be very involved.

Definitely US vs Iran.

Reminds of that liberal phase "I'm already against the next war."

Why can't we have a president that doesn't wage are on someone?

USA vs. Canada vs. Turkey vs. Iraq.

Why? Because I said so, that's why.

Of course, no petty war between nations will compare to when Ultrajoe takes on the rest of the world.
For 3 months I have seen this. Now I want answers!

Seriously, why this sucking up to Ultrajoe all the time? Was there a uber-ultra-l0l event that I missed, where Ultrajoe dominated everyone in CQC and every martial arts known to man?

I want it to be some MEDC vs. Zimbabwe, cut that sh*t out!

I think I might play the devils advocate and say the EU might get chummy with Russia, what with them controlling our gas and all. Man, the UK is in a tough position the more I think about it.

To be honest I'm surrendering to the combined power of RAK the undead and Newclassic.

Ultra Joe would probably be given Canada as a birthday present.(By the way I want Cyprus and Armenia, and remember that's Febuary 14 for me)

Well it's about time we retook those rebellious colonies and showed them what's what!
TALLY HO!
Unfortunately you guys would face the Guerilla war from hell... considering all the armament that US civilians have access to.
If you saw the average american gun-holder's set you wouldn't be saying Guerilla.

We still have Militias, you remember when you fought our Militias last time...sure we should have lost, but why we didn't I hold the Militias responsible.

The next war, well, the way diplomatic relations are set up in today's nations, it'll be a World War. You get one small conflict between two relatively important nations, and then they'll call their friends, and then the shit hits the fan and we enter world war. Kinda like World War 1.
I think it will be very similar to World War 1.

We've had amazing leaps in battlefield technology recently, and no real new proving grounds for it.
Much in the same way that large mobile artillery and machine-guns got their first major blooding at the Marne and the Somme.

It will start of a proxy territory struggle, it wil be a confusing war, it will be a war that revolutionizes modern military tactics, it will be a war in which development has outstripped strategic advance and will result in extremely high casualty rates. Things that the general populace take for granted will be irreversibly changed think about it, the civilian internet will almost certainly have to be shut down. (somehow?)

And for years after it finished no one will be able to properly explain how it began.

I think they'll add a few units, some new talents, online co-op and a zombie multiplayer mode-

NO! Bad Shanks, this is meant to be serious discussion.

How long do you think it'll be after the war has ended before the entertainment industry milks the event for all it's worth?

Well, since gaming technology has advanced a lot since the early 1920's, I'd say at the same time as their drawing up the peace plans, the initial level designs will be in place.

I think that eventually all the paramilitary organizations of the world will attack everybody and the world will slip into a depression and world war and we'll all go underground in vaults and then emerge 200 years later and the world will be infested with ghouls mutants and bipedal tanks that shoot missiles then a lone warrior in tights will use three mysterious triangles to save us but the triangles will actually be evil aliens trying to blow up the world and they'll suceed and we'll have to have to ppl board the mysterious triangles and sneak onto the alien planet and breed until the humans rise again and then we'll start over and it will all happen again on the other planet, except this time, there will be cake....

I don't think it will be the Russians any time soon with another sattilite state, as NATO and the US have been going apeshit since the invasion of gorgia's 2 provinces. And there's a huge movement to get the rest of the satilite states on the NATO action plan to help them become full memebers. Way NATO alliance works is that if 1 country gets attacked a chain reaction goes off which is completly seperate from political leadership. And at that moment every NATO ally officially declares war.

One that I can see is that after the US pretty much pulls out of Iraq, except for their 1 base which will remain for god knows how long. Is that Turkey will continue to attempted to bomb the kurdish regions of northern Iraq. Iraqi government sees this as a threat and challenge. Also sees it as a way of uniting its people against a common enemy (germany 1939?) They almost went to war once already within the past year
