While it eventually may profit the lifespan of the game itself(Not that it was dying, oh no), anyone can expect veteran players to get pissed of when other people can get the game for free while said veterans had to lay down money for it. They're not settling for one little hat after roughly 1, 2, 3 or 4 years of playing with other people who were just as dedicated as them(Read: bought the game).

I guess we veterans have to sit this one out to see if it will increase traffic and game experience. With a rusty green WW1 hat on our head.

I honestly don't see why the Vets ***** about items. I just started playing TF2 today after it went Free-to-Play and I find it really balanced (and much more fun than the broken xbox 360 version). I will admit that of the new players seem really clueless (it's really annoying when you Uber a Heavy and he just stands there and doesn't charge at the huge group he could wipe out). Stop whining.

Also, where do I upgrade to Premium? I couldn't find the option on the MannCo Store.

*cough* I don't care, I spent my money on it to play it for 3 years and now I have all of my friends here to spycrab with me, I see no problem, to me it is another sound valve business move that will likely make them a decent pile of cash and more happy customers. (I play the heavily modded stuff that most people won't put in the effort to grief so I likely won't be effected much)

Yes, the Free-to-Play was a good idea, both financially and community-wise. (Though it has some shortcomings)
No, one stupid hat won't make up $20 that we originally paid for the game.
No, it doesn't make any sense to ***** about it since TF2 was available for $1 on all those sales before.

I've had the game for two years and I think I've recieved my money's worth through playing it and updates in that time.

I like the new hat, it's like a bonus.

I stopped playing TF2 ever since the 'WAR!' update was released with the demoman and soldier items were released.

The game is broke and I wish there were specfic servers that just ran with the vanilla items and no damn hats but there are next to none.

Also, I tried to play a game yesterday and clicking "server not full" and ">100 ping" as a filter option got rid of all the games on the list.

I used to love TF2 but its pretty dead to me now. :/

It's probably been said, but for Christ sakes! Did you not get your money's worth with all the free stuff Valve gave you!? Jeez, how selfish and entitled can people be? I bought it at full price, so worth it! I didn't get bitter every time Valve had a sale cause someone got it cheaper, and I'm not now! This will only grow the community, and for every griefer that joins, we'll likely see 5 fresh faced eager players (And yes, totally pulled that ratio from my ass)
