Poll: Top or Bottom?

Okay, I was at wintercamp, and I was stuck with bottom bunk.
Eventually we had to sleep.
Guess what? Despite the temperatures below freezing, the top bunks boiled! Poor suckers were too hot up there, and we had to open windows to cool it enough!
Meanwhile, I chill on the bottom.

That aside, I will go with bottom. I don't trust myself not to bang my forehead on the ceiling when I wake up. That is something of an irrational fear though, given how slowly I normally wake up.

When I was in the Coast Guard, I had top bunk in a four man berthing room (God I was lucky). That is my preference.

bottom all the way. When I was in my dorms and my roommate wanted a light on so he could study, all I had to do was hang a sheet from the bottom of the top bunk and BAM instant curtains. O.O rather nice really.

I'll take the top. It still has that novelty element to it. And the last time I slept on the bottom bunk, somebody above me got a handjob, so that's led to some unpleasant associations.

if this was a gutter question i'd say either, otherwise id say the top bunk because the bottom one is usually colder and cramped.

Okay, stupid joke aside, seriously. I slept in a top-bunk-only bunk bed (bottom was a desk) for 6 years, I like the top.

I've never rolled off a bed in my life, but I still get the feeling that I will if i'm on top bunk.

Despite the obvious appeal of the top bunk I kinda like being on the bottom. You're less likely to wake up who ever is sharing the bunkbed when your below, you get the space under the bed by defalt to put your stuff (i.e. in a youth hostal type situation) and well, if there's no personal lights for the beds I like to hang my torch from the slats above to make a make shift light.
Also, you can hang your clothes and towel around the edge of the bed so it feels like your playing wendy house like when you were five, and that's just fun really.
