Despite the obvious appeal of the top bunk I kinda like being on the bottom. You're less likely to wake up who ever is sharing the bunkbed when your below, you get the space under the bed by defalt to put your stuff (i.e. in a youth hostal type situation) and well, if there's no personal lights for the beds I like to hang my torch from the slats above to make a make shift light.
Also, you can hang your clothes and towel around the edge of the bed so it feels like your playing wendy house like when you were five, and that's just fun really.
(All I can think about right now is Doctor Who and Amy and Rory with bunk beds).
I'd also like to add I'm over 6ft, burley, working as a part time doorman. So any images I gave you of a whimpering sissy boy curled up under his bed sheets in the shadows of the bottom bunk, clear your mind at once!
I had a bunk bed till I was sevendamnteen. You know how hard it is to woo your prom date's dress off when you're using a bunk bed? Well it's doable but it wasn't easy.
I was on the top bunk my brother was afraid he would fall. It really sucked once we hit our growth spurts. I kept scraping my knuckles on the ceiling when i'd turn over in my sleep.
? Its easier to get out of bed
? Isn't close to the room = less chance of spiders falling on you
? Heat tend to rise upwards, so you're usually getting some nice temps.
Plus i think i seen a thread asking this question before.
