Poll: Top or Bottom?

We all know the situation. One of your buddies is over and you're having a playful wrestle, then it suddenly happens. You know it's time.

Time to go to bed. But you only have bunk beds. But the question...who to be on the top bunk? Do you have a preference?

I prefer the top bunk, because if the bunk bed somehow breaks I want to make sure I'm the one falling on the poor bastard that chose the bottom bunk.

Oh you. I had a feeling it wouldn't be about what a question like that usually entails, but then again, you should after having been on this site for a while.

I don't have a bunk bed myself, but whenever I've been on vacation with my family and I had to choose, I go with the bottom bunk. Reason for that being that I used to roll around a lot in my sleep when I was younger and I was a little frigthened I migth fall out, landing on a hard stone floor. After having grown up and outgrown the rolling around part, it sorta stuck with me. So to sum up, I prefer the bottom bunk!

I don't like people sleeping above me, but I don't like sleeping high off the ground, so it ends up being a trade-off. I like to take the top bunk, because I dislike people sleeping above me more than I dislike sleeping too far off the ground.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I was going to, but I was thinking "What if it is paint? What if I correct him/her but am actually tragically wrong over what is probably a well-known fact!?"

When I shared a room with my brother I had the top bunk so I would choose that, also being on the bottom bunk feels quite claustrophobic.

I have this problem as well. If I take the top bunk, I have to climb up there somehow. If I take the bottom bunk, I have to wedge myself in there somehow.

I vote for taking the bunk beds apart and putting them on the floor if there's enough room.

I'm happy taking the top bunk when sober, and I'm happy to take the top bunk when completely sloshed. I just wanna know my odds of survival for climbing up and down.
