I not only hate Valve, I love EA.

There might be something wrong with me, I don't know.

OP: As I mentioned, I actually like EA. I will admit, they are a bit of a cope out, but ultimately the things they make WORK. I love their sports games, they make the Sims 3 (which, as a series, is one of my favorite games - if only because I've spent so much time playing all three editions), Medal of Honor, Battlefield (my all time FAVORITE game/series), etc. etc. EA is probably my favoritist Now, granted, you did say developers, and EA is more of a publisher, but I have a feeling you're using developer synonymously with publisher.

I gotta admit that in the last few years, for me, EA has saved a lot of face. I used to hate the company, but they've really done a lot for themselves over the past few years. They've thrown money at some fairly interesting and risky projects, some of which have backfired, some of which have not.

They're not really the EA we used to love to hate, anymore.

As for my list of trusted companies.. it's quite short. Valve and Blizzard almost make it, but I'm always a bit weary. The only company who I could blindly buy games from, is Bioware.

Did you finish Half Life 2? At first it doesn't seem very good but it becomes amazing, and the ending is freaking amazing. We don't like it because of the Crow Bar.

EA closed Pandemic. They also didn't let the people that are now Infinity Ward make a Medal of Honer game with a level without a weapon. Most of the games they make must be sandboxes. Good games are still there (Skate 2, Burnout Paradise etc.) but there are a lot of things that I dislike about EA.

Well, Let's see. There's Eidos for Hitman and Thief,
There's Valve (Left 4 Dead, Half-Life)
Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah),
Epic Games (Unreal)
And of course Bethesda (TES 3&4, Fallout 3).

Valve proved they could be trusted with L4D2, Delivering on a promise that was pretty outlandish.
I tend to trust bioware to deliver and epic storyline and great charecters.
Square enix Deliver JRPGS consistently of great quality.
Infinity ward blow my socks of with great gameplay
the list goes on...each company has its own strengths, and EA gave us dead space and mirrors edge...i cant hate them anymore...onto ubisoft!

Bioware would be my only one. I bought Dragon Age Origins knowing nothing, I mean nothing, about it except for that it was made by Bioware. I didn't even know what type of game it was. In fact, I didn't even look at the back of the box, because I knew that if it was by Bioware then I couldn't not love it.

I was not disappointed.

Valve too, sort of, but I'll still check out the games beforehand. With Bioware, I don't seem to need to.

not even gonna lie, same here, i must have been in a cave up until that came out, was with a friend and he was wondering if i was gonna get dragons age and i go "uh..what? wtf is dragons age?" and we stop in our local game store and i instantly bought it seeing it was bioware, and of course, loved it

i am currently replaying kotor and mass effect 2 if this indicates any of my fanboyism...

Nope I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them. I know they don't care about me. I know they can turn on me at any given second. I know the only thing they want is sitting in my back pocket.

Wow! I guess you didn't appreciate the great pacing and AI. Did you get lost or confused? You have to play the first one to understand the story.

Blizzard and Valve. They're loyal to their fans, and support their games for free long time after they're released.

Hm... Fair question... I would have said Bioware, but the dumbing down of Mass Effect 2 shook my faith in them... Stardock is solid, but it's a publisher. DICE creates nice games, and they're Swedish, which is cool.

Oh, and Introversion, a small-time (9 people) studio, creating great games such as Uplink & DEFCON, publishing them all by themselves.

I used to unconditionally buy any new Valve game.
Then Left 4 Dead happened, and I wizened up a bit.
I used to like Bethesda too, especially after Morrowind.
But then Fallout 3 happened.
That said I do trust a few developers competent enough to make good games, for some reason I only have a few of their games though.
