Solidarity, Brother. Let's rip into it.
Say that as you get shivved for some bread. Society can't manage a cross over to "Anarchy", we rely too much on technology, have too many people, could not survive self sufficiently and I am NOT turning off my xbox

Anyways, domestication and killing off of animals means finding food will be almost impossible, as roaming animals are gone, and mass concentrations of animals would all die off, with not enough heading out to find more food for even a decent number of people to live off.

Is there any actual way that anarchy could work?

I wouldn't mind living in a functioning Objectivist society (with a slight tilt towards socialism). Proper anarchy, organized chaos, that would be great too.

Shame neither of them could possibly happen.

Again, Anarchy is just the lack of a leader/power system of government. There would still be a system by which say, food could be distributed and necessary tasks commissioned. Hence the scaffold of governmental work continues, while the pimple atop it is gone.

Modified version of National Socialism. Strong, centralized authority is able to get shit done without dealing with red tape, while keeping the population content with strong, nationalist culture. Racial and ethnic differences are downplayed in favor of loyalty to the state and fellow citizens. Freedoms are tolerated to the point at which they begin to counter-act the good of society, ie. free speech until you lose it because of sedition, right to bear arms until you commit an armed crime, right to live however you want until you impose it on fellow citizens. A moral standard is agreed upon and enforced through peer-pressure, conformity and discipline being concepts drilled into citizens from early education. Upon becoming an adult, each citizen is required to serve at least two years in either the military or a civil volunteer group in order to be granted "full" rights, that is, to vote and such. Government controls a large chunk of the economic infrastructure with non-essential manufacturing and service industries remaining in the private sector. Social welfare for able-bodied citizens is unheard of, replaced by employment in nationalized industries.

Oh and rallies too. Shitloads of rallies.
Is it just me or did Mr. Galt describe the government from Star Ship Troopers?

Democracy is not a utopia. Anyone selling a utopia to you is selling you snake oil. Democracy is the system of government you get when everyone admits that utopia is impossible and the next best thing that is achievable is the people choosing how they'd like to be ruled.
I choose democracy.
With an extra side of direct.

Utopia is a matter of preference dependant on the individual in question. And thus, we are all unique. So there can never be a true Utopia. If you think you've found Utopia, then chances are you've been persuaded into believing in another's ideal.

My thoughts on this matter.
