Vaentines day
A notorious holiday that has pagued men for over 100 years. Every year gamers suffer sitting alone with noone to share their feelings with except their buddies or random strangers, and those who actuall do have significant others, they have to buy in to the rules of commercialism which states that you must buy exstravagent gifts or spend large sums of money to satisfy your significant other while the women typically do not have to do anything.
Men suffer pressures trying to find the perfect gift, which can often mean the difference between un-meanigful thankyou from the significant other, or them jumping on their loins in the evening.

Fellow Escapist,
Being one of the unfortunate gamers who had to buy into this commercialism, I feel i must bring this topic into discussion. Why do we buy into it? Why do we say it stupid, but in the back of our minds buy into the propaganda that is valentines day. Why do the single have to be the odd ones out, and why do thoses of us in a relationship buy into these demands?

Well you see, we buy the sweet stuff so we can *Nudg Nudg* *Wink Wink* Knowwhatahmean? Honestly, though, i always sort of figured that buying candy, flowers, cards for ones valentine was simply a kind holiday jesture.

As for the Single Gamer thing, well, there's always more video games.... and liqour.

Eh it's just another day..I don't need to say i love you to my love any more than i already do
Totally true. Why is one day so special above all others? Shouldn't we say that we love a person every day? Wouldn't it be more meaningful if you pulled a similar thing on any random day?

Because its fun.

I don't know about others, but I like to make the girl I'm with happy. So a silly holiday where we can do romantic things is great!

And then she can do my romantic thing!

Meh. I typically don't do much on Vday, maybe chocolate here, dinner there. She prefers random surprises anyway, although would probably be a little miffed if nothing special happened at all and she had to listen to her girlfriends raving about what they got.

Exactly to be frank I am sick of all the hate that valentine's day is getting. Sure people spend alot of money but so what? It's for the sake of "love" so why should you be pissed?

Why shouldnt there be a day for love? Why should we not celebrate love on a certain day of the year? Just because people do something more on a certain day of the year shouldnt offend anybody, it's not like they go on and beat their partner's for the other 364 days of the year(if they did they wouldnt care about valentines day).

By that logic why should anything have a day? Why should the Americans remember their presidents on a certain day? Shouldnt you honor your previous leaders every day of the year? With christians and easter why should they celebrate the resurection of The Christ just on that weekend? Why shouldnt they celebrate the fact that he is risen every day of the year? No just Easter Sunday and other Sundays.

you all are giving good opinions but your not really considering the factor of women who buy into the comercialism of the holiday. And also address about ways of satisfying the woman besides sexual interaction. We need to hear soe honesty from the gamers who have had either bad experience with this holiday or are the odd ones out. woman are welcome to explain their viewpoints as well.

My brother's birthday is on valentine's day so I always have an excuse if anyone asks where I was at valentine's day.

My brothers birthday is on the 13th, And i happen to know that in 7 years (when he turns 18) I'll be starting the 14th with one killer hangover. Im going to bring my little brother up properly.

Personally, Im a hapless romantic, And so if i wasnt single i'd probably have ace plans...But alas. Singledom again.

Although im not all depressed about it, Im glad, As it means i can spend all sunday on Star Trek Online, Wooooo!

Doesn't matter, neither me or my GF cares alot about the day. Chances are we're not even seeing each otehr on that day, like last year. But we've got our 3 year anniversary (or whatever it's called) 2 weeks after.

There should be an option for boyfriends! =O

And I don't mind the holiday actually. Although so much hype is over it. I just like to think of it as a day to spend with your loved one and kind of just let it be about the two of you. <3

It's alright I guess. Zefrank says it the best when he says saying "I love you" on Valentine's Day means less than it does on any other day of the year. But I guess it's about having fun? I guess I'm just grumpy because I only got one Valentine card this year... but I mean, I'm not complaining because one is better than none.

I hate Valentine's Day, it just reminds me that I am 18 and 1/2 years old and I haven't even gotten my first kiss, let alone had a relationship with a girl.

My social life is non-existent

It's a hallmark holiday. Thankfully my GF really doesn't care too much about it so i only gotta waste like 20 bucks on it. I hate all these made up holidays who's only purpose is to stimulate the economy on a regular basis.
