Vegans are just going to die of malnutrition in the end. Meh. I like my meat.

I don't endorse it at all, mainly because I don't care about the state of being for the animals that suffer to eventually become my food, and I love the taste of meat. As for the health part, I think they have to take vitamin supplements or something along those lines in order to get all the nutrients that most people get from a regular diet.
Plants have a state of being too. They too must die for us to eat them. Why are animals worth more?
Because animals are SENTIENT. Animals FEEL PAIN. Christ, people who won't eat anything that casts a frigging shadow aren't trying to be good to the environment; they're SCARED OF SHADOWS. It's OBVIOUS, people.
what about potatoes and lettuce? no one ever sides with the vegetables

I wouldn't consider an extremely vegan person to be all that healthy. Moderation in all things, including moderation itself, as the quote goes. I do know that most meats are such a load of crap and hormones that they ARE very unhealthy, however.

I, for one, am somewhat vegan, in that I stay away from meat but will eat it if I must or if I haven't in a long time. Not in a 'save the animals and give them equal rights' kind of way - as I matter of fact, I hate animals with a vengeance. My family has even owned chickens and I can say with some certainty that their place in the food chain is not on accident. My reasons are much more selfish: a lot of meat is very bad for you.

Also, the FDA has recently braned cloned meats as being safe and, if memory serves me correctly, not being required to be labelled in stores, and you'll have to excuse me if I don't feel like being a test subject for THAT experiment.

I personally think it is unhealthy, humans evolved eating meat, and are supposed to eat meat.
I have a friend who's vegan, and I have no problem with him, until he tries to force his beliefs on me, and this is my main problem with vegans, the whole "holier than thou" attitude towards not killing animals.

And just a quick question. If vegans don't want anything to die or be in pain for their food, can they eat a placenta? Nothing has died, so surely they can eat it?

Just a thought

Meh. People have every right to starve themselves. I personally enjoy eating meat and wouldn't be anywhere near capable of eating enough of other foods to fill myself up.

On the other hand, if a vegan/vegetarian were to harass me for eating meat, I would hate them. They can do whatever they want with their eating habits, just so long as they keep them to themselves. If they do end up harassing me, I generally just tell them to go and prove to me that plants don't feel pain.

Now if you'll excuse me, this thread has made me hungry.

I'm under the belief that a person will eat whatever they jolly well damn want to whether it's meat, vegetables, or constant watermelon flavored Nerds.

In my opinion the important things isn't vegan or not, it is to eat whatever you want but to ensure none of it goes to waste. As a person who enjoys meat I understand something had to die so I can have dinner. That's why I must eat it all, so it's death isn't trivialized by my just wanting "a small bite".

Yeah, I know, I'm stupid like that.

No it is not a good way of life. We are omnivores for a reason.

Plus almost very Began I have met tried to guilt trip me into my life style. I don't care if the animal was alive at some point. Hunting and killing is a natural process.

Besides, plants do feel pain so their entire argument is pointless.

Meh, in the end, it's a two-way street. To be honest, I see just as much 'omg EAT MEAT YOU FREAKS' as the holier than thou vegans. :\

If the vegan in question comprehends a proper diet and get their protein then they are better than most...its the vegans with no clue of what they eat just espouse the "meat is bad peta is great" nonsense I start thinking about cannibalism...

Humans are omnivores and need a varied diet.

Vegetarian I get.
But veganism is not good, it's not healthy (all the fats) and makes you gain weight. Plus it's a pain in the ass for family members. Trust me, I know.

That's cos they're DISGUSTING xD

Also, kudos to the one person brave enough to admitting that they don't know what a vegan is.
And Pigs aren't?

Humans are on the top of the food chain for a reason and should be able to treat animals like pigs, chickens, and cows any way we see fit before we eat them. Those animals are born and raised to provide food for us and nothing else. On the other hand I endorse the prevention of animal cruelty towards any other animals (ASPCA). Call me hypocritical if you want.

I'm sorry, but Veganism is just ridiculous. Actually, go ahead. You'll die quicker.

Although I can't but simply agree with all of your views, may I point you to a study that strongly indicates that there is an african tree that will send out some sort of (still not understood) signal when being eaten (it's leaves that is) to the other trees of the same species nearby, which causes them so release a mild toxin which in turn causes their leaves to taste bitter?

Just something I read a while ago.
Uh...I didn't say that. That was a few posts above mine.

Quite the contrary, the ASPCA is meant mostly for the protection of domesticated animals and what not like that. It's not hypocritical to support that group because generally their cause is simple, remove animals from abusive and neglectful homes, find them better homes. Punish the neglectful and abusive.

Also the potato truly is the most divine thing ever created, especially when served with meat.
