I'm left-handed, so WASD pisses me off endlessly - especially if I need a Mouse as well.

I used to use arrow keys a long long time ago, once I switched to wasd there was no going back. Besides how would I now get the 10 or so bindings I generally need around the arrow keys? Doesnt make much sense to me (oh and I only use mice with 5+ buttons).

I used to use arrow keys when playing DOOM (before I switched to mouselook) and games on VisualBoyAdvance/No$GBA (now I have a DS), but now I use WASD and I use my mouse with my right hand. In Halo: Combat Evolved on PC I all my other keys are located around the WASD keys for convenience, and space to jump as usual

Mostly WASD, espicialy shooters, though i do use arrows occaisionaly for racing games where the faster reaction time right hand is needed.

WASD, It's easier on my hand, there's more buttons nearby for easy access to secondary functions, and it leaves my right hand free to operate the mouse. WASD, FTW.

WASD for me.

I'm old enough to have been around for the advent of FPS games and I've used arrow keys for a long time. In fact, I've spent years keyboard turning in FPS games (no mouse). Yes kids, once upon a time that was quite viable, at least in single player. I was young and foolish...

The whole thing changed when I came to one of my first LAN parties and sat down to play Quake 2. One of the older players saw me with both hands on the keyboard, got up, came over and didn't leave until I accepted to play with a mouse. At first, circle strafing, mouse aiming and using letters instead of arrows was a cultural shock to me, but I rolled with it since I was suddenly able to hit a moving target. Fast forward a decade, and I'm a die-hard WASD user, as it should be ;)

ESDF is also viable (and arguably superior), but I'm a traditionalist and stick to WASD.

In my early days (actually, this period lasted a VERY long time) I used an. . . unconventional control set. I used my right mouse button for forward (because it was the default for Duke Nukem 3D), and them 'M' ',' and '.' for back, strafe left and strafe right. Now I tend to use WASD in shooters.

I have been known to use joysticks and gamepads for certain games (in fact, for MW4 I used both joystick, gamepad AND rudder pedals). Mostly though I just use the default controls with some tweaks to mouse sensitivity.

WASD all the way. Look at all the other keys around it! You've got Q, and CTRL, and X, and Z, and Shift, and all those pretty numbers up there...Oh, and also F. Can't forget about F. What do the arrow keys have around them? Jack shit. Big ugly keys with big ugly space all around them.

I didn't click one because I'm a lefty. So on a desktop (where I can slide the keyboard over) I use the arrows but on my laptop I use WASD because I can't move the keyboard over.

WASD

With the game's major functions in spiral pattern out from those keys.
exceptions being equipment is always 1-9 whilst crouch/sprint/prone/jump always sit it ctrl, shift, alt, space.

I used to use arrow keys, but ended up using this at a LAN party and never stopped.
Exactly how I feel with one addition: "E" is usually "interact" and I reserve TAB for special moves/weapons/etc that are individual to the game

I used arrow keys when I was a kid but I switched to WASD when Serious Sam came out because I had learned to type.
