And no, FLCL ended perfectly, it had the right amount of episodes, short enough to be missed, but not long enough to over-stay it's welcome.

Actually I was kind of thinking about that show the other day. Wish AS would bring it back every once in a while. Was pretty f#'ed up show with lots of fanboyism shots I guess. But it was interesting for sure.

Agreed. It was made as a 6 episode OVA, and it ended as one.
It shouldn't be stretched out further than that as the ending was one of the better more satisfying ones that I can remember seeing in anime.

I say yes but I think the story was finished so they might need new characters/settings/etc. but I'm cool with that because I just love the style of the show.

OT: I think it ended perfectly. I wouldnt mind finding another series that utilized similar animation, though making more episodes is generally a way of ruining a series.

Yeah it did end perfectly and the rest would be crap filler but I would at least like a spiritual successor to it just because I love the style of it so much.

FLCL's spiritual successor would be Diebuster (aka Gunbuster 2, the first Gunbuster has a much different style, but similar themes) It's by the same director and has similar character designs and art styles, and has giant robots!

Diebuster's spiritual successor is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (which PedroSteckecilo brought up) and is the most awesome thing in the history of anime and should definetly be watched.

This. I HATE when people are like WE NEEDZ MO EPIZODEZ!!! it's like, why can't we just let a perfect series end perfectly, not all shows need to be 100 episode epics.

The show was designed to test out new animation techniques, and seeing as how it had a story that answered all of it's own questions, I agree with megapenguinx.
