How much all the players hate each other. Why can't everyone have a good time and just enjoy killing each other? I'm super competitive in MP but I can at least appreciate being outplayed or enjoy victory without having to brag or complain.

Instant respawn. No matter what game, no matter what context, instant respawn is a POS mechanic. Even if the the game is "designed" around it, it still takes away anything you would call strategy or teamwork. It encourages, nay, DEMANDS you to run blindly at what resembles an objective. Got killed? Press X to respawn and try again! Fucking bullshit.

Friggin bad mapmaking.
I can work around all other problems, but if the map that was made specifically for this game was not tested thoroughly for exploits, spawn positioning, and just whether or not it is fun, I cannot enjoy it.

What about a timed respawn, putting you with your colleagues simultaneously?

Also, I think the problem with camping is how fast-paced everything is this day, meaning that when someone slows down and waits, it is criticized as unfair, since everything moves at a blur, you hardly check for the odd guy waiting in the corner.

Btw, I have no idea what the hell a "noobtube" is.
I believe it refers to people using the supposedly overpowered grenade launcher in MW 2. I don't know if it deserves the reputation as I've never played the game.
Ah. I figured that's what it was.

I honestly don't see the big deal. If someone used a weapon on me that was supposedly over-powered, that's fine because it's not like he cheated or used an exploit. I think ED has a name for such people who get upset at people using certain weapons that they think they have the authority to disapprove of, but I don't think this site would like it very much if I said it.

It's not.
I'll give an example for this one:
People (like me) complained that quickscoping was cheap, and an exploit of the auto aim system.
Now, for the new call of duty Black Ops. someone asked if there was going to be quickscoping in the newest installment.

@Herbert_Gun No. Quickscoping is a cheap way to play. We're specifically going to gimp Quickscoping, sorry. Play straight-up!

Where's "snipers"?

I hate one-hit-kill weapons, because you have no chance to fight back and often are lolkilled from nowhere - even when being cautious, because everyone's doing it. This includes powerful grenades, CoD-style one-hit-kill knives, the AWP, and noob tubes. Headshots are fine (unless it's like CSS where most headshots are just luck or spray instead of aiming for the head).

Though... snipers as a whole are just annoying.

Campers.

Call it "strategy" if you want. All it does is prove that you have no skill. People with skill want to get out in the game and prove they have skill, not sit in the corner and ambush people. You know that guy that sets up his claymore on the door behind him then sits in the corner watching the other door? Yea, that guy should kill himself. Those people are just wasting the oxygen of us legitimate human beings.

Here's a better way to put noob tubing. Imagine a gun that if you are within 10 feet of its shot you instantly die, it has extreme range and it is an instantly unlocked weapon. Oh and also, it is possible to spam it.

Servers with loads of advertisements and messages.

Also servers with a ton of stuff to download before you can even begin.

Probably hackers. I don't like knowing someone out there has aimbot or something that completely defeats the purpose of aim+shoot. :x
Ack. That reminds me of a time I was playing Counter-Strike at a friend's house. Everyone kept freezing, then dying because some guy was running around shooting us while we were frozen.. Also, I can't stand people who camp near spawn points.

Pretty much the only thing that annoys me with multiplayer FPS is the addition of gameplay elements that bring an element of luck to the game.

MP games, unless they are of a more freeform nature such as Minecraft, should generally be about skill.
Anything that detracts from the core idea of "may the best man win" is out of place and should be avoided.

The first thing that springs to mind is the RC-XD from Black Ops. If you use it you're nearly guaranteed a kill, and whether or not it's you or someone else is totally down to pot luck, which is an element that does not have a place in what is supposed to be a game of skill.

I am not much of a competetive guy, I play for enjoyment, not to win. So if I get a bad score in a game but it was a FUN match, I don't mind at all. if I get a good score, that's cool too. What ruins my enjoyment is the pot luck elements.

Disclaimer: Aside from the RC-XD and Chopper Gunner, Black Ops seems to be fairly well balanced thus far in the 4-5 hours I've spent playing it and far more of a game of skill than the clusterfuck of killstreak rewards and pot luck that MW2 was.

None of the above. I get pissed when people abuse bugs, but what really bothers me is people who complain about camping.

Seriously, deal with it.

Since when does Multiplayer FPS = Call of Duty?

Unreal Tournament, for example, has none of these problems.

for the most part in regards to camping I agree, things I can't is spawn campers, can't do much in terms of strategy with them if you can move two inches before you lose your head. And the other reason, I like to rely on smoke grenades or phosphorus grenades to either conceal my presence, or burn them.
However, in a game like Call of Duty, because they use aim assist in the fucking multilayer because I guess treyarch and activision think we can't aim or something, they just need to wave the scope around in the smoke until they cross-hair sticks for a second, fire, and they just got a free kill. Other then that, camping is legit. Unless it's spawn camping, in which case, you're just ruining the game for everyone.
True. It's one thing to run around a spawn site shooting. It's quite another to stand behind them and pop them in the head every respawn. Not to mention the often illegitimate means of getting there.

None of the above, for me is that I have a crappy Internet connection for playing. So I am a PC Singleplayer-only guy just for that matter.
