Looked it up on le olde searchbar, couldn't find it.

So, in fiction, there are often people with extraordinary abilities that defy generally-held notions of reality. I want to know which title you use when referring to them.

Yes, the first two are pretty straightforward, but this can technically refer to powers outside extrasensory perception and the like.

This is in a nondenominational way, meaning there is no context of situation.

Examples of context: Psyker in Warhammer, ESPer in anime, Mutant in X-Men, etc.

I suppose I would have to go with 'Superhuman'. ESPer to me conjures up images of people specialising in mind powers specifically, so that's out. And mutant likewise seems too specific since that implies it's due to their genes which may not be the case.

It depends on how they recieved their powers or what type of powers they have, but I would use Superhuman as a blanket term.

Super, special, meta-human, post-human, god, deity, demi-god. Steve.

Generally speaking, it's superhuman, but there are a lot of names for individual medias. X-men has mutants, Bio-Shock has biotics, Incredibles has supers, and Wheel of Time has Aes Sedai. But the general term for people with powers is superhuman.

Conduit. Cookies for the reference.
I'm rather liking Conduit, but that's for specific types of powers, nominally ones that require channeling of some form or another. I would call them GAPs, or something like that, for Genetically Altered Person. Also would symbolize how they are apart from the rest of us (across a Gap, you see).

It depends of what powers they have.
A psychokinetic person I would probably call them a psyker - also, is Psyker a trademarked name for Warhammer 40K or is it a generic term?
Otherwise, I'd probably go with post-human or Homo Supremus or the like.

Yeah, but inFAMOUS did cover a wide range of powers. Telekenesis, Electrical Manipulation, Invisibility, Telepathy, Spontaneious Robotic Crab Production, etc.

In this series the lightning round would generally consist of lightning being thrown at an army. By the Aes Sedai. It's a good series, and the title is actually an incredibly important part of the actual series.

I'd use Superhuman (or meta-human, I saw that posted a couple times) as the general term. Some of the other choices were too specific with what they encompass.
