i've got a couple friends who are furries. Its a bit strange, and kinda annoying at times, but I don't mind it. I find it kinda fascinating from a psychological level, tho

I don't mind them, I have a couple of friends that are and if they want to be that's fine by me, when they hit on me, not so much.

It's an exceptionally broad group of people. Really now. You can't classify the Furry group as all whackjobs or all normal people. But when the Ratio of loud whackjob to a normal person is 3:1. Well, it gets a little weird, if not a bit funny at times.

I've got a lot of problems with the group, yeah... To me, it's something you grow out of when you no longer need the crutch. But with that said, I know a considerable amount of people who are furries, and some of them are hardcore into it too. I don't mind them. They're good people. But when the ones who are foaming at the mouth come at me, well, come at me bro.

Well I am one so that sort of answers that. Though I really do have a problem with "fursuits" I don't know why exactly, but they frighten me.

Hell hath no furries like the ones in porn.

That means that not even Hell has such horrors. Cat chicks are ok, but furries weird me out.

Furry does not bother me at all. I actively engage in at least some of the net culture, roleplay characters online, etc. It doesn't feel like a fetish to me, it's more of a hobby. Like D&D.
Furry as a fetish seems to me to be not much different than the people who like cat ears, or maid outfits, or the rest of the things considered "moe" in otaku culture. It's a mostly superficial difference that taken at face value does not inherently require sexualization. That said, one of those famous rules states something along the lines of: If it exists, it is someone's fetish.
Soyeah...Furry as a fetish is more a function of people being sexual creatures in general than the concept itself.

why is there no option for "best gay porn ever?" >.>
I vote that option! ^_^

My vote: "I am one."
-I don't fursuit (yet...), but I like the community (even though I don't talk at all), have a fursona, and anthropomorphic art is awesome.
Deal with it.

The same way I feel about people into S&M, they're average people with a fetish I don't understand. Not my thing, but I'm not going to judge you for it.

Furries will only gain legitimacy and tolerance from the mainstream when something uniquely furry becomes popular and profitable for a large business or large group of people.

Don't get your hopes up.

Sonic the Hedgehog.
I meant something that grows specifically out of the furry fandom.

Sonic doesn't count; the character didn't specifically emanate from the furry fandom, and Sonic fandom's a whole subculture in and of itself. Even furries will shy away from the really psycho Sonic fans.
