But in all seriousness I think they're quite the quirky bunch. Interesting personalities that allow their look to bring your imagination to their actions without saying a single word. I marched behind at least 30 of them in the Doo Dah Parade and they were great fun. Still give me the creeps to a point, the eyes...it's always the eyes, but I can deal with them. And I for that last 3 years I've unknowingly been friends with 8 furries so go figure

Maybe I don't get it, but what I understand is thus: Furries have a built in mindset that causes them to find animals or animal living attractive. So its a primal thing. If this is true,... why not just man up and go live in the woods. Hunt and track your food, figure out how you're gonna survive winter and all that. If thats not it, please someone explain this to me.

I don't know who ChewFox, Sabrefox, or Kiira are but regardless of whatever things they've done I don't feel the need to judge them, ever.

Chewfox was the "bedroom fursuiter" on Maury.
Sabrefox helped CSI write "Fur And Loathing".
Kiira was on "My Strange Addiction" as a fursuiter, quit the fandom due to it, then came back like nothing ever happened.

All three are examples of scumbag furries that make the rest of us look bad. But then again, all three are referred to when you ask Joe Sixpack what a furry is. It's an image thing. Nothing more, nothing less.

There are fursuiters that are 100% innocent and hang around kids at supervised events to entertain them. But you never hear about them, now do you?

Personally, I think they're okay. Some of them are a bit out there and give us bad press (See: Chewfox [Maury], Sabrefox [CSI], Kiira [My Strange Addiction]) but a good percentage are OK people, if a bit nerdy.

I personally hate furries with passion. I could sit here and rant all day, but not on this forum.

Like I said in a previous post, there are some parallels between furries and gay people. Probably not what this guy had in mind though

Most furries/gays are just like normal people, they'll keep it to themselves unless it's appropriate and you wouldn't even know they were furry/gay unless they told you.

However you get the minority of furries/gays that are drama whores and like to tell every last person they meet just to stir things up or get attention. It's unfortunately these people that are a vocal minority and give furries/gays their negative stereotype.

This is unrelated but damn there are so many misconceptions popping up on this thread, I'm half tempted to compile a short FAQ or something.

Concerning this topic, I don't like to generalize. I'd rather apply a "case-to-case" tactic here.
My stance is entirely depending on the person / artwork itself.
Ranges from "Really nice" to "Kill it with fire & EXTERMINATUS", really.
For example, most of the furries I know here on the Escapist are pretty nice.
On the other hand, fursuits and the like fall always into my Exterminatus category.
