well i am 23 and i go to bed at about 2300 when i have to go to work the next day though when i had to leave at 0530 for work i didnt bother sleeping through the night
I normally go to bed at 9:30 on weeknights (I'm 17) and read for an hour or listen to some music. On weekends I go to bed whenever I feel like it. At 14 years old, your sister needs as much sleep as she can get so 12 is unreasonable in my opinion.
For me it's whenever but I find myself not sleeping for over a week if I wanted to. But a reasonable bedtime would have to be (for a 14 year old) 10:30 or at least that's when I had to when I was that age.
Pre 10 years old: 9pm
11-12 years old: 10pm
13-16 years old: 11pm
17+: whenever.
In my opinion that is fair, lets the younger childeren get sleep and the older ones who can go to bed early if they need/want to have a choice if they want to stay up.
I like to try to get to sleep at decent times now that I'm in college. Even so... I'm usually up till 4 am. Its been that way since high school. Maybe I have sleep issues?
As for me at that age, I was sneaking under my parents detection and playing FFXI late into the night, basically nightly.
Well I think that reasonable bedtime (especially for young people) is between 10:00 and 11:00 but I personally go to bed when I feel like it (which is usually somewhere between 01:00 and 03:00).
This might pose a problem when I have to go army next month and I'll have to go sleep at 10:00 and wake up 06:00... I've been trying to change my bedtime to 00:00 and wake up at 08:00 with pretty poor results.
For a 14 year old on a school night, I'd say 10:00. Then she would probably be getting about 8 hours of sleep and would be prepared for school the next day, which, if her's is anything like mine was, starts at an ungodly hour. Besides, it gives her more than enough time to relax. For the weekends and summer, let her go to bed whenever she damn well pleases.
I go to sleep whenever i feel tired. If i went to bed at 10:00 i'd just be lying there until 2am wide awake, might as well be doing something to pass the time.
