It depends on the game. I've done all of the first 6 options in the poll with one game or another.

I play a game until it gets boring. Simple as that.

Even if i complete the game, i'll try to do it 100% or as close as i can before repetition sinks in or when i have nothing left to do on it. Which i either play the game again or move on.

That's me in a nutshell.
Hell, straight after finishing Batman, I made another file, just because I wanted more.

There is too many factors. Is the game worth replaying? How is the online? Was it fun? Gotta go on a game by game basis.

Yeah I too wished I could pick more than one answer here, as sometimes I just can't do everything I wanted to in a game (Saints Row 2, Gears 2), but I know, that if I keep playing the games I'll get way behind on some other truly memorable experiences. I've taken to buying the major time investment games like Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins, while sneaking in rentals like ODST and Brutal Legend in between.

Achievement Whore here, I'll usually try to get 100% on everything (you wouldn't believe how annoying it was going through the entire Kingdom part of Assassin's Creed to get that one flag I missed, I actually spent at least two hours going through trying to find it...). However, even when a game is 100% finished, I'll keep it if it's any good, I always like going back to an old game and playing it again if I enjoyed it the first time round.

It's a phenomenon with me, for a while I am hooked on it and refuse to play anything else but then randomly I lose interest and start playing something else, I'll give you an example... late 2008 (I mean Christmas) I finally got Gears of War 2 and played it for months, then I got Dead Space for my birthday and I got hooked on that for some solid time as well, then finally I got Saint's row 2 and was playing that solidly for a long time, then I got Fallout 3 and away went Saint's row 2 now at the end of the long track is Halo 3: ODST which I have been playing for some time and I look forward to seeing what replaces that.
I still love all those games its just that when something new comes along I get hooked on it.
You too, eh? Well at least I'm not alone. I'll get a game and play it nonstop until I get a new one, which is a pretty long time. Perfect for trying to get 100%.
But it sucks when you get two games at once. You get addicted to one and don't play the other. I got Fallout 3 and the Metroid Prime trilogy and I can't put Fallout 3 down. I want to play the trilogy, dammit!

When it stops being fun.

I have 4 Fallout 3 characters and 6 Oblivion ones, and they still haven't gotten old.

Yet I stopped playing Devil May Cry 4 after a couple of hours.

God, Dante's a prick.

Once the story is over. I can't be arsed to get 100%, because it usually involves irritating collecting tasks. I'd rather poke pencils in my eyes than collect 100 pieces of crap throughout the whole goddamn game.

If the game is really good, I'll sometimes go back to it and play a few levels, e.g. Call of Duty 4, Max Payne 2. I'll definitely replay Borderlands after I finish it.

Ooh yeah, daddy likes it. Oh yes he does.

I mean, yeah, I'm in the same boat. When I like a game, I play it as much as I can in one sitting, and then the next time, until I finish it. I usually leave games half-finished though. And that happens often.

Generally when the grind gets too much for me. I managed to get about 75 percent of trophies before the grind gets too much, although with some games, I can get them all. Even if it kills me, Brutal Legend is not going to defeat me and I will get all the trophies for it.

pretty much whenever I get bored. It varies usually. On linear games with no type of sandbox, generally as soon as I beat it. Games like fallout 3 and oblivion I STILL play.

I don't play too many single-player games anymore, but I usually play through it and then maybe 1 more time a few days later. Really depends how much I enjoyed the game. The only game I've really tried for 100% on was Mass Effect, and I gave up after realizing how long it would take me.
