Type: Fire, Cyndaquil (and a girl one, at that. I thought female starters were really uncommon), took her with me all the way to the Elite Four

Back in the days I always went with that little turtle like water Pokemon, Squirtle, in Pokemon Red.

I went with Pikachu in Yellow, don't think you could choose anything else as I recall.

Really can't remember what I picked in the Gold version, probably the water type again whatever it was.

...Wonder where I put my Gameboy Color.

Squirtle/Blastoise, Blue version. I still love him. And yes, I know it is a him, because I started playing it on the N64 colliseum, and they assign genders in that game...

Yeah I chose Turtwig (grass) don't worry I have since played fire red and heartgold and that turtle has stuck with me for 3 whole games now along with the first wild pokemon I caught: Shinx.

Torterra and Luxray are my BFF's

Edit: Wait no that makes no sense. Torterra and Luxray weren't with me in Fire red :'( But we were reunited in Heartgold along with my final party: Slowbro, Ninetales, Lapras and Dragonite
